The respiratory system is responsible for the movement of air and all the ramifications that entails for the body. Chiefly, respiration, conduction of odorants for olfaction (smell), and vocalization. This module introduces students to the anatomy of the respiratory system, discusses structures in the context of their functions, details the pathways by which air is moved between the external environment and the lungs, and the opportunities and challenges of sharing this pathway with the spaces that also conduct materials for the digestive system.

The urinary system is the principal system that filters the blood and maintains fluid balance. This module details the structure and function of the kidneys, the histology of the kidneys, the urine conduction pathway, and how urine is stored and released by the body.
