MHT CET stands for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. This exam helps shortlist students for enrollment in the engineering, pharmaceutical, and other technical course programmes available in public and private Maharashtra universities. The exam is conducted by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, and MHT CET 2025 registration began at the end of December 2024 and ends midway through February 2025, subject to extensions.
Every year, the state-level agency administers the Maharashtra Common Entrance examination to determine admission into undergraduate programmes in engineering and technology, pharmacy, PharmD, architecture, and hotel management and catering technology courses offered by government and government-aided professional institutions as well as un-aided private, professional institutions throughout the state of Maharashtra.
The placement exam is also mandatory for students pursuing their first year of full-time undergraduate agriculture programmes offered by government and government-aided and private professional institutions in Maharashtra.
Each year, thousands of students apply for the exam [1].
The exam is administered in two groups:
PCM (physics, chemistry, mathematics) for engineering and agriculture candidates
PCB (physics, chemistry, biology) for pharmacy and agriculture candidates
For agriculture students, you can choose between appearing in the PCM group or the PCB group if you are pursuing one of the following courses:
BSc (Hon) Agriculture
BSc (Hon) Horticulture
BSc (Hon) Community Science
BSc (Hon) Agribusiness management
BTech Biotechnology
You must appear in the PCM group if you are pursuing:
BTech Agriculture Engineering
BTech Food Technology
You must appear in the PCB group if you are pursuing:
BSc (Hon) Forestry
BFSc Fisheries Science
