The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) Board was established in 1962 [1] by order of the Government of West Bengal to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination for admission into various institutions in West Bengal that provide education in engineering, medical, and technological fields.
Since 2014, the WBJEEB has played a significant role in the admissions procedure through applications (online) and allotment via e-counselling.
According to the board, it can conduct common, integrated, competitive entrance exams for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate vocational and professional programmes at any institution of higher learning in West Bengal.

According to official sources, the board conducted the WBJEE 2024 examination on April 28, 2024 [2]. The online application process opened between December 28, 2023, and February 5, 2024. Candidates preparing to register for WBJEE 2025 can expect a similar time frame for registration and examination dates based on past exam dates.
TheWBJEEB states that it holds this OMR-based Common Entrance Examination (WBJEE–2023) for admissions into undergraduate programmes in engineering and technology, pharmaceutics, and architecture at various universities, state colleges, and self-financing institutes in West Bengal.

The WBJEE 2024 eligibility requirements shall be different for each programme. The WBJEE 2024 eligibility requirements for appearing for the exam include the following:
You must be an Indian citizen or OCI.
You must have passed the 12th standard or its equivalent before 2024 or are appearing for your 12th standard in 2024.
You must be at least 17 years old on December 31, 2024. There is no upper age limit unless you enter a marine engineering course. You must be 25 or younger on December 31, 2024.
In addition to the criteria above, you must meet the following additional requirements according to your course:
You have successfully passed class 10+2 physics and mathematics and one of the following: chemistry, biotechnology, biology, computer science, computer application, or technical vocational subjects.
Your overall grade in the three subjects above is at least 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBA-B/PWD).
You have passed class 12th standard English or its board-approved equivalent with at least 30 percent marks.
You have successfully passed class 12th standard physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology.
Your overall grade in the subjects above is at least 45 percent (40 percent for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBA-B/PWD).
You have passed class 12th standard English or its board-approved equivalent with at least 30 percent marks.
You have successfully passed class 12th standard physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Your mark for each course in the subjects above is at least 50 percent, and your aggregate grade for the class 12th standard exam is at least 50 percent.
You qualify for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi.
You have successfully passed the 10+2 Examination of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or board-approved equivalent.
You have aggregated at least 60 percent marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics and passed each subject.
You have received at least 50 percent marks in English in the 10th or 10+2 standard.
You meet all the eligibility criteria for the engineering and technology courses.
You do not have colour blindness (uniocularity).
