Dr. Hardik J. Pandya is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in the Division of EECS, Electronic Systems Engineering, and also serves as Associate Faculty in the Department of Design and Manufacturing, Division of Mechanical Sciences. Additionally, he holds a Visiting Professor position in Electrical Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar. Dr. Pandya leads three cutting-edge laboratories focused on developing innovative biomedical devices and technologies. With a Ph.D. in micro-engineering systems from IIT Delhi, he boasts an impressive academic background that includes postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland's Robotics Centre and Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital. His research spans minimally invasive and non-invasive technologies for cancer diagnosis, electronic noses for diabetes and cancer screening, and neuroprotective therapies for conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's, and epilepsy. Dr. Pandya's prolific contributions to biomedical research have earned him five granted patents, multiple patent applications, and over 65 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Pandya's work has received significant recognition, including prestigious awards such as the Early Career Research Award from the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India (2017), the ISSS Young Scientist Award (2020), and the DST Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship (2023). He has also secured substantial grants from India Alliance and the NIH for pioneering projects in brain tumour delineation and oral cancer detection, respectively. An influential mentor, Dr. Pandya has guided numerous scholars and postdoctoral fellows, with alumni holding prominent positions in academia and industry worldwide. He also serves as a non-executive director and technical advisor for two Indian MedTech companies and recently founded Scilogic Applied Research PLC, dedicated to translating biomedical innovations from lab to market.
