Bio

Ahmed M. Hamza, Ph.D is an Associate Teaching Professor in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, and has been hacking things for over 20 years -- his passion for security and computing started in undergraduate years of study while learning about web applications, and how they can be made to function differently from their designers' intentions. His research interests are primarily in applied security and automation, dynamic optimization, machine intelligence / learning, and how they can be utilized to further or exceed human capability to act in a constantly moving, contested world. Ahmed teaches courses the areas of offensive security, security engineering, malware and reverse engineering. Ahmed is also an EC-Council affiliated instructor and holds M.S and Ph.D degrees, respectively, from Georgetown University (Computer Science) and from the School of Computing, the University of Portsmouth.
