Debmallya Chatterjee is a Professor - Operations Supply Chain Management and Quantitative Methods and Chairperson of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM- Online) at SPJIMR. In his professional career spanning over 21 years, he has taught at leading graduate management institutes across India. Before joining SPJIMR he was with TAPMI Manipal and served as the Chair of the department of Operations and Information Science. He holds a Ph.D. from IIT ISM Dhanbad, an MTech from NIT Durgapur, Master’s in Mathematics from University of Burdwan and Master of Information Technology from MAHE, Manipal, India. He is also an Executive Alumni of Harvard Business School, Boston. His research is anchored on areas such as Multi-criteria Decision Making, Structural Modelling, Decision Science, and applications of Fuzzy Theory in business. He is a passionate research scholar with publications in leading journals published by Taylor & Francis, Emerald, Sage Publications, and Inderscience. He has authored several case studies listed in HBSP & Ivey Publications, few of them are best sellers. His has taught courses like Operations Management, Service Operations, Operations Research, Simulation Modelling and Quantitative Methods at postgraduate and executive programs. He is also a visiting professor at IIM Mumbai, IIM Sambalpur and IIFT Kolkata. Prof. Chatterjee is the Chairperson of the PGDM Online Program in partnership with Coursera. He has been instrumental is conceptualising and launching the premium online program at Coursera. He is also the VP of the Productions and Operations Society (POMS), India Chapter and a member of Decision Science Institute, Houston. He has successfully organised India Subcontinent DSI (ISDSI) Conference 2018 and POMS India International Conference 2021 at SPJIMR, India in the capacity of the Chairperson of the conference. Prof. Chatterjee is a FIRO-B certified professional with a keen interest in Music and Travel.
