About the Course

In this final, capstone course of the Google Project Management Certificate, you will practice applying the project management knowledge and skills you have learned so far. We encourage learners to complete Courses 1-5 before beginning the final course, as they provide the foundation necessary to complete the activities in this course. As you progress through this course, you will “observe” a project manager in a real-world scenario and complete dozens of hands-on activities. You will: - analyze project documents to identify project requirements and evaluate stakeholders - complete a project charter and use it as a tool to align project scope and goals among stakeholders - identify tasks and milestones and document and prioritize them in a project plan - define quality management standards and explore how to effectively share qualitative data - demonstrate your project’s impact through effective reporting By the end of this course, you will have developed a portfolio of project management artifacts that will demonstrate the skills you have learned throughout the entire program, such as your ability to manage stakeholders and teams, organize plans, and communicate project details. These artifacts can exhibit your career readiness when applying for jobs in the field. To further prepare you to interview for project management jobs, you will reflect on past projects, develop an “elevator pitch,” and anticipate common interview questions. Current Google project managers will continue to instruct and provide you with the strategies, tools, and resources to meet your goals. After completing this program, you should be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as a project manager. You will also have the opportunity to claim a certification of completion badge that will be recognizable to employers....

Ok content but way too many group assignments. You submit and upload all the work then most people mark it correctly but you have to battle those who just spam zeros and don't even bother to check the work or are angry as you marked them down. It really should be an annoymous system with student numbers not names. People should not be able to see who marked their work then go and mark it zero.

This course doesn't bring anything new and in my opinion is not needed. The only good thing is to wrap up everything we learned so far (without Agile) and some exercises (which many coursants hadn't even done & sent blank documents) but necesary is only Project Charter (it's gradable) and one email, which are then listed in your profile.

Too many peer graded tasks leading to significant delay in completion of grading and receiving certificates

Honestly, after grading 3 of my peers project charters, I must say if google give pm certificates to people who :copy paste the dialogues to the charter, instead of listing benefits they COPY THE QUESTIONS WE SHOULD ASK ourselves, dont write a single goal, they copy paste the table costs instead of analyzing, and worse : THEY CANT EVEN FORMAT TO THE SAME FONT AND SIZE!! It’s all copy pasted and they don’t even care to format or write it in a logical manner. Those projects were some of the worse work of ever seen and if these people have certificate then this course is worthless . To the instructor:

This course doesnt explain Properly What are deliverables.

It was good to revise but I am not comfortable with Peers reviewing as many of peers are not serious students, as you may also note in the discussion forum

This course introduces Project Management concepts, methodologies and tools, shares practical knowledge from Program/Project Management Professionals of Google, and lets you exercise what you have learned and skills with quizzes, assignments and peer reviews on real-life case studies. I gained better understanding on Project Management in large scale projects and confidence to move my career to the next level. #GrowWithGoogle

Dear, Google /Coursera

Excellent course: The Capstone brought most of the other course together, for a total view. Though would have appreciate to use agile, and Koban Board into the last project, though getting the "Big Picture" of a real project was worth the trade off.

Retrospective do not know if would fully understand, all aspect of the course with, just completing the capstone, sometime to ponder on, as I go print this certificate. Appreciate ALL the instructors, and student-learners, the myriad of backgrounds proved to be very supportive, during this, and the five (5) other courses. Please keep this means of learning affordable.

Utmost appreciation, to all at both Google, and Coursera , for this great opportunity to further the path of self development.

With Utmost Thanks, and Regards,

The course is well structured. It was a very good opportunity to deepen my knowledge in project structure and management. Further, it efficiently let a learner experience important processes in project management.

The contents focus on practical aspects; to be conscious of scope, to identify and manage risks, to pace according to timeline. In my working environment, I used to spend more time in assessment (before the project) and reporting, yet, the lessons were not reflected and the risks were not well managed, which is also an organizationa habit and culture. During the course learning, I started changing the style in my unit; it seems easier to other team members. Culture of the organization does not easily change, however, I think I gained better confidence in asserting risk management and projecting strategy.
