Perfect refresher course, gradually increasing in complexity and workload but James make the connections to previous content clear all the way. Highly recommended course!

Definitely not an introductory course, but a great high-level overview of LA. If you are new to LA, I highly recommend watching the 3Blue1Brown LA series on YouTube followed by Khan Academy's LA series. THEN tackle this course. Overall though, it was a great delivery and truly is the essential LA concepts needed for Data Science.

A good overview, but could have used a bit more information. I had to look up some concepts for myself in order to really understand it.

It's ok, not phenomenal

Loved the content. The quizzes had good questions but the answer fields were incorrect and forced me to resort to listing one or two variables, etc. just to pass.

quite a short course. goes slowly so good for beginners actually. quite a few errors in course and some topics dont flow properly. not the best.

I wish there was more practice for the topics and the discussion is not moderated so no one was able to get their questions answered.

The course started out great. The instructor was very good and he explains things very well. However, starting in Week 4 I was disappointed with the content. Two videos were dedicated to the manual calculation of determinents. But when teaching Eigenvalues, he showed us how to caculate them using the determinant, but does't cover the reason why the determinant was used. Also, he shows us the Matrix formula for least squares, but doesn't even try to explain why it works. The target audience being Data Scientists or potential Data Scientists would probably appreciate covering those questions. I get very little satisfaction from using and applying formulas that I don't understand.

Overall a good course, but misses out a lot of information, leaving the learner not fully understanding why certain concepts are relevant. Additionally, there are bugs in the quizzes, some of which have been highlighted in the forum years ago, but have not been amended.

It's very hard without a textbook. Some of the videos were insufficient to mastery of the subject. I did fine but others may struggle worse than me.

I definitely do not recommend this course. I took it as a refresher since I took linear algebra 5 years ago in college. Had it not been for little bit I remembered, and many youtube videos that I sought out, I would have gone through this entire course without understanding what anything actually meant. There is zero description of applications and barely even any definitions. The professor basically just gives you the recipe to get the solution to small arbitrary sample problems and that's it. Also, the moderators, TAs and professor for this course are completely inactive so nobody asking questions in the discussion board is getting help unless it's from another student. The professor actually doesn't even teach at CU Boulder at all anymore. I am considering pursuing an online MSCS at CU Boulder but this course is honestly making me rethink it. I really hope this is just an anomaly for the university.

The course is a very brief overview of some basic linear algebra concepts as well as a bunch of examples and how to solve them manually, however there's really no context as to why these concepts will be important in Data Science. The whole course can be completed in 8 hours. Exams/quizzes are extremely easy and doesn't do a good enough job of testing mastery of the knowledge presented during the course.
