About the Course

"Feminism and Social Justice" is an adaptation of Distinguished Professor Bettina Aptheker's long-running course at UC Santa Cruz. In the course, Professor Aptheker presents a broad definition of feminism that serves to frame three significant events in the history of feminism and social justice: the Empire Zinc strike of 1951, the 1971-1972 trial of Angela Davis, and the #metoo Movement....

very interesting to hear a perspective of somebody that actually lived the history. I liked discovering more about events I heard in passing and being challenged to think even more about these topics.

It was a wonderful introduction on the vast studies on Feminism abd Social Justice. It made desire to learn more and to study how feminism as a movement has operated in my country in the last century.

Creo que el curso en sí es bueno, pero los vídeos son muy largos. Recomendaría el uso de textos al interior del curso para así tener videos más cortos y sentir que las cosas son más rápidas.

It may be the fact that I've been studying feminism and social justice issues for years, but the content of this couse was all information I already knew, so I felt bored.

I would like more key terms to be defined, that there was greater interconnection between topics, it was a beautiful and unconventional course, thank you

Whatever taught was great and insightful. However, I wish it covered the further intricacies of feminism and wasn't this cursory in detail.

Fascinating glimpse into the issues through some good case studies, but too short and I would have welcomed more theory.

El curso es genial pero no tiene traducción al español, ni subtítulos al español como decía tenerla. Deberían modificar ese aspecto, o al menos no presentarlo al inicio del curso porque es falsa información.

A disappointing course. Non analytical.

(Includes some mistakes like saying that median means average).
