finally an online course that delivers, great way to kickstart or reboot your chinese. the formula of the lesson is simple and easy to follow, a fantastic way to start, definitely moving on to HSK2

Excellent course, Yu Bin explains the material very well and the content is well organised. I would have liked further explanations on the grammar and additional practice exercises beyond the quiz

Overloads students in the beginning with unnecessary list of radicals, doesn't provide much guidance in language learning or a framework for language acquisition, lecturer has no discernible personality. The quality of the audio recordings is almost unlistenable - a lot of lip-smacking noises and it sounds as though they were recorded on a mobile phone in a tiled office space next to a busy road.
The vocabulary itself is fine, and if students already know how to learn a language they will be fine. If this is a first other language for the student, they might struggle with this particular course.

course is good but for a "free" course it should also include the possibility to take the weekly and final test. i understand that you might want to pay for a certificate though

Thank you for the course. This course is very helpful for me. But the course is pretty old. It was made 6 years ago, so it should be re-made.

I suggest to give more time, in between classes, or add days only for practice

The course does not seem to be anything beyond, here's the list of HSK 1 vocabulary. The practice material is minimal for listening, reading, and writing. Very little instruction on how to write characters and how words are related to each other or other characters/radical. I was having a hard time remembering the word morning (上午) and lunch (午饭)until I finally figured one is time before noon and other noon meal. I took a Chinese course in college years back and remember the teacher explaining things like this and helping students create these type of connections which make it much easier to remember. For writing, it is much easier to learn the characters if you break it down into component characters and understand if the character is a pictogram, ideogram, compound ideogram, and semantic-phonetic compound. The course does not even explain this idea and you are definitely on your own looking up this information. I will finish this course since I started it but will be looking for something else for HSK 2 and beyond

Good course, unfortunately, the follow-up is horrible.
