Amazing course by IBM. They teach the subject with simplicity and purpose, that makes you study with zeal.
I recommend this course for all those who want a basic understanding of cloud computing.

Great review for Cloud concepts that I needed. Probably would use it once I start studying for some AWS content since not many people use IBM but still a great way to get started in cloud computing.

The intonation in the female voice is very monotone and makes it hard to voice. Loved the example with the glass board

There needs to be an intro course to programming terms. Screenshots are outdated and do not match course material.

Many of the videos did not seem "natural". Especially in the beginning it felt like advertisement.

Good info but too broad for it to be useful. Definitely a sales piece for IBM Cloud

This didn't feel very much like an intro course. The pacing of the (probably Watson-generated) videos didn't stop for a second to let students reflect on a lot of new information coming at them, the final exam was impossible to replicate outside the lab environment and didn't do much to ease new people into things at all, and the light board videos were neat, but it was hard to distill which information from them would appear in the quizzes. While previous modules in the IT support certification were pretty cut and dry, this one felt like the lyrics to "Mission Statement" by Weird Al Yankovic; just a hodgepodge of business buzzwords and jargon that get in the way of telling students what Cloud Computing is REALLY all about. It almost felt like a cult, actually. I get that it's the future, but chill, we're here to learn, not buy enterprise cloud solutions.

The peer grading is complete and utter trash. I had to completely redo an assignment because my peer assessor could not be bothered to actually read my submission. What's worse is that there's no control for this at all. There's no way to contest a grade. There's no way to flag the reviewer as being abusive or lazy. All you can do is resubmit the work and hope the next person takes it seriously.
I have a full-time job and a part-time job. I have a family. I'm taking graduate courses. I don't have time to waste because a core part of the certificate requires me to trust other people that don't take what they do seriously. It's ridiculous. It actually has me reconsidering where I want to spend my money. I did not have this problem when I did my Google Certification on Coursera. It seems unique to IBM courses.

Very theoretical. I was learning _about_ cloud computing, and I don't think I've gained any useful skills out of this. Around the middle of the course, there were so many terms that it was really hard to follow. I don't know what kind of pre-requisite knowledge is required to actually understand this stuff, but by the end it was liking watching videos in another language I didn't understand. I feel like the latter half of the course could only be understood by someone who already knew everything about the cloud and didn't need to learn it. I was able to retain disparate facts well enough to answer all the questions on the quizzes, but I know that all of those are gonna fall out of my head tomorrow, and I don't know how they would've been useful in the first place.

i wish i could give 0 stars.progress is held up by a peer review assignment that is on material that is NOT taught. One is expected to automatically know how to use ibm without it being taught at all.The name is mentioned in the course and that literally is all that is covered ion ibm cloud and creating instances. This is unfair. This is not taught and there is no way to know what to do without it being taught. I did not enjoy this class at all.i feel that all of my hard work is wasted because we are required to do something that is not taught in any capacity. 0 stars. There is also no way to contact the instructor. It really is terrible.

I can't create an IBM cloud account.
It sends me the verification code, so it has no issues with my email.
I've tried 4x, posted on the forum, talked to the bot to no avail for suggestions on what to do.
It just tells me that it's unable to create my account with no explanation as to why or how to resolve it.
I guess I'll have to cancel.
I can't believe that there is no one, no way to fix this!!! No one responds on Twitter, or on the forum here.
Wow. I can't finish the course, and will unlikely ever be taking any others on Coursera, and will be warning people not to take any from here.

To complete the course you need an IBM cloud account, which many students including myself were unable to sign up for due to an unidentified error with IBM. There is no course support for this, so you will be stuck waiting for it to be fixed, and the only advice given is to contact IBM support. It seemed like a good course, but until they can get a reliable, functioning cloud provider attached to the course it seems like some students won't be able to progress past the earliest stages.
