I am currently studying Chemical Engineering. However, after going for industry training as a data analyst, I decided to venture more in this direction and I really learn a lot from this course.

The course itself is a very good intro to terms and the data engineering world, but the optional Db2-Lite offering costs me 3 days of troubleshooting and still isn't working. I can provision a DB but cannot access the UI. I am given an error code HWCCON0104E where I cannot find more info and IBM is not willing to support because it is a free account. This means for each section I cannot complete the optional trainings which I was really excited to do. I am considering to give up on the IBM class and move to Google because of this.

Very basic, too much interviewing people and few content.
The IBM Cloud account setup fails very often, issues with keys and required to send emails.
Few questions are misleding if not wrong:
- the one asking which one is an example of semi-structured data where both emails and Tweets are actually semi-structured data.
- Other example the one asking to count unique values in a SQL statement where COUNT and DISTINCT are two options while the correct answer should be COUNT DISTINCT

The course initially succeeded in providing a good foundation, but it soon deviated from its primary goal by introducing an excessive amount of superfluous information. This overload of content is particularly problematic for beginners, who may feel pressured to memorize everything they encounter. As a result, they may become overwhelmed and struggle to identify the key concepts, ultimately hindering their learning progress.

This was a deep dive into the data world that provides so much knowledge that could be beneficial to any data professional. I did not find the interview of data engineer videos to be a productive use of time. They mainly reiterate what you have already learned in the previous videos. 3 stars because I was disappointed with the lack of technical skill-building compared to the Google Data Analytics certificate program.

This introduction class is ok for a beginner, but I don't recommend it. Lots of theory, little practice. Practice requires registration for an IBM cloud, but even their infrastructure is error-prone. One or two videos are a bit repetitive of the same content from previous videos.

A lot of content and time is about Data Engineering careers, etc. including quiz questions. These are good to know as a FYI but I don't think it should be included in course quizzes.
