Fabulous course. I learned a lot of does and doesn't make us happy, and learned valuable tools for introducing and integrating new habits into my life that will definitely contribute to my well-being.

Dr. Santos did an amazing job of curating this course. She made each lecture super easy to understand by breaking down complex theories and providing multiple studies and examples to back them up. I really liked how you were able to try out each of the different rewirements throughout the course work to get a sense of each one before committing to one behavior for the final 4 week-challenge. I'd love to take another positive psychology course with her.

This course has worked wonders on my own personal happiness and also grown my knowledge of the science behind happiness & well-being. If you put the time in to really listen to the lectures, repeat them to understand, and reflect, then you will have the necessary knowledge of happiness habits and the reasoning behind them. If you put the time in to then practice these habits, then you will see how your daily well-being improves. Thank you Dr. Santos!!!

Laurie Santos Science of Well-Being Course has taught me better skills for creating happiness in my life! I've benefited from learning to implement savoring, gratitude & exercise. I also enjoy implementing and understanding the importance of sleep, meditation, social interaction, reflection and random acts of kindness. I look forward bringing my best self and sharing what I've learned with friends and co-workers! Thank you for creating this class!

This is what I would call the perfect course. The professor is truly invested in the material. The weekly sessions are clear and easily laid out. The wealth of information is vital and practical. You are forced to engage within your community of friends & family and meet complete strangers through enriching your social connections. You are provided with a toolbox of skills with which to use during the final 4 week challenge to improve your well-being.

It's awesome! I am so glad someone suggested it to me at the start of the stay at home order where I live. I think that helped put things into perspective and make sure I didn't go down a rabbit hole (no offense to rabbits). I'd highly recommend this course for someone who is looking to set goals and gain various science-based driven perspective on life, especially as sometimes our mind does silly things to us that don't help us as much as we'd think.

Thanks a lot for this course.
First part is perfect: videos always provide great information and last no more than the time needed to transmit this information. They are pleasant to watch and put in a postive mood. Books references to go into deeper details are perfect, and interviews of other professors than Laurie are great.
2nd part - rewirement challenge makes sure you actually try and put what you've learn into practice... and it works !
Great job !

this was really amazing course ,i knew what actually the well being is. ,did not expect.for each and every module ,sources and research has been done. I loved the rewirement challenge so that all hope for changes in their levels of happiness.i like the stratagies that have been explained especially WOOP .even the peer reviewed assignment is like answer to the point, its not like submitting your experiences in a essay format.
happy for this course....!

This course has the potential for many insightful lessons and the tools for practical, very rewarding and significant personal growth, well-being and happiness. It's possible to take a casual and superficial view of the course material, which is not intellectually complex. But that approach would likely not only result in limited understanding of the science of well-being and happiness, but a missed opportunity for a positive change in one's life.

Great course, transcripts, resources, citations. Only issue was the questions for the final rewirement challenge were slightly different than the prompts in the submission for the final assignment. Continuity of that with accurate questions and number of sentences would be appreciated I bet to future participants. I will promote this course for others and hope to someday interview Santos for my radio show Comedy for a Change with Jason Robo on KMUD.

Excellent course that should be taken by everyone! Such interesting information about what makes us happy and more importantly, what doesn't. The science behind it and all the studies that have been done are fascinating. The strategies for increasing happiness are very helpful and the rewirement challenge really worked to establish a new, healthy habit! The professor is very engaging and does a great job at teaching the material. A must take class!!

It's a great course. Not only Dr. Laurie Santos is knowledgeable and provides all the scientific support for what's thought in the course, you get to bring all of that into practice and actually start bringing happiness into your life; in my own personal experience before the course I scored very low in happiness, after the course it was significantly better. I recommend this course to anyone and everyone (as well as her podcast The Happiness Lab).

This course is integral to a high quality-of-life and becoming the best person you can be, for yourself and for others. Everyone should take this course. And it should probably be taken by high-schoolers so they don't have to waste time doing things they think they want to do... but it's actually what others want them to do. It'll make young people prioritize their time making experiences and enjoying life for themselves, rather than for Instagram.

The Science of Well Being is an outstanding course, and Professor Santos is an excellent communicator. Her chill, intelligent, open, and honest approach is refreshing and engaging. The course takes you on a journey of how the mind influences our perspective of happiness, and what we can do to take it by the reins and redirect it. The only negative I found with the course is it was too short, or it needs a follow up class. I was sad to have it end.

This course should be mandatory for Americans everywhere! Prof Santos walked us through some data-driven findings and insights that I found surprising and illuminating, especially in the area of "annoying habits" of the mind. As a retired Theme park executive with 35+ years work experience managing large teams (and as a father) I found these lessons extremely valuable and i have been recommending the course to former co-workers and students alike.

The Science of Well-Being is outstanding, insightful, effective, exceptional, doable, thought-provoking, timely, highly recommended, rational, reasonable, rewarding, " a just what the doctor order kind of experience ", fitting for our times. It is an antidote for discouragement, disappointment, and distress. It mitigates mistaken and misplaced ambitions.
So then, take the class... And see for yourself... I don't think you will be disappointed.

I have to say that even though I knew a lot of the things that this course talked about, I only had superficial information. I mean, who doesn't realize that sleeping better, eating healthy, being social, exercising, and meditating is good? Of course it is! But knowing the science behind it certainly makes it take much more meaning. I'd recommend this course to anyone looking to understand how and why those things make us feel better and happier.

I discovered that Well being is more about enjoying life in all the extensions, that we have to remember to savory every minute of it. I want to thanks Coursera, Yale University and the teacher for share this wonderful course.

It has been fantastic, I did not think that studying "The Science of Well-being" was going to be so beneficial in my life. I would recommend to everyone to take this wonderful course. Deciding to learn to be happy is entirely possible.

There is so much to learn about ourselves that it can take a whole lifetime to do so; and not knowing enough can impact the way we feel and how happy we are. The Science of Well Being course provided me with tools based on scientific research and analysis allowing me to focus on those things that would bring long lasting joy. This was the first online course that I actually managed to complete. I've been adding courses to my dashboard for years and feeling pretty virtuous about it, but this course was interesting, interactive, and taught so brilliantly. The teaching was fantastic, the instructor Laurie Santos is funny, smart, and teaches in an engaging way. There is a plethora of online resources on happiness, but this course really motivated me and impacted my life.

This is a wonderful course that encourages you to self reflect on your own happiness. It's a course which is based on behavioral science and neuroscience. The course encourages you to reflect on your own habits and thought processes and to try to rewire the way that you think and behave. It's a course which is logically ordered and has a logical progression. This course is highly recommended for those wishing to reflect on their own well-being.

I loved the course and the teacher! She is so down to earth and communicates with great ease. Excellent teacher.
As for the course, I got so much out of it I wish I could pass the information on locally in my homwotwn in Mexico to many students that struggle with life issues. I think this kind of knowledge should be standarized in all schools so students could to have a better perspective of life.
I am so thankful to Professor Laurie Santos!
