Fantastic course, 5 stars without thinking twice. I am professionally working with the science of wellbeing, but I found the course very useful, nevertheless. I would recommend it to everybody, since you can take out of the course, whatever you need for yourself. For beginners it would be mind-blowing, I would expect. But also specialists know that actual change need time and this is a wonderful program to change for the better for everyone...

I am quite a bit older than most of the college students and have learned most of what is taught here through experience and hard knocks. The students are lucky that this has now been researched and they can learn this earlier in life to live a better life. So glad to see this information shared with the world. I sound like an old fogey but in my day there was nothing like this and no opportunities to learn this stuff like this. Excellent!

Perfect class to take especially during this difficult time in our world with the Covid19 pandemic spreading across the world. And then to throw in the Black Live Matters movement and exposing how racist our country is. The George Floyd murder was absolutely awful and the result is the loss of a human being and a major shakeup in our country on how black people are treated by the police. We all need more happiness in our lives. Great course!!

I really enjoyed this course. The course taught me how to actually implement what I learnt rather than just learning. The strategies in this course have helped me build new habits & maintain consistency, as well. The overall course content is very insightful and interesting. The Professor was very engaging too. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn about what factors actually influence our happiness in life. Thank You.

Such perfect timing in offering this course on line. With the Covid-19 pandemic effecting so many of us, Laura Santos was a welcoming ray of sunshine. The class was easy to follow and helped me to put so many things in perspective. I obtained a great deal of information and have adopted new healthy habits that I plan to utilize daily...and even if I forget from time to time, I know that it's okay too. Thanks Professor Santos for sharing!

This really is a great course! The instructor helps you understand how the mind works and discusses research that shows that things and even certain accomplishments don't make you as happy as you think they will, or that the enjoyment or happiness they bring diminishes drastically over time. It helps one build good habits that will lead to a much happier state of mind than can be achieved by just earning money and buying things, for example.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class and learned so much. This course has helped me take a step back and look at what is really important in life. I can successfully say that I actually changed parts of my life and I am now more naturally and more consistently happy because of it. This course was engaging and thought provoking. I encourage anyone who is ready to look at their life under a new microscope and make changes, start with this course!

As a 77 year old recent retiree, I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I wish I had done it much earlier in my life as it would have helped me get through many difficult challenges and stresses encountered. I aim to use what I have learned to increase my sense of well-being for the rest of my life. Adopting the rewirements contributes not only to personal fulfillment but also to our compassion, empathy and understanding of others.
Thank you.

I just completed this course. The teacher is fantastic and the content is very relevant. The course not only gives a good overview of how our minds trick us into thinking that something is good for us, but also lists techniques we could use to improve the quality of our lives. I learned a lot about the science behind the course and personal well-being. There are also additional materials/links for those who want to explore the topics more.

This course teaches a great deal of life. The only con in this course is you will not get any result unless or until you apply it. Now being happy or sad completely the responsibility of mine.
The interviews and proven concepts make me believe in the concept and theories described in the course. The professor explains things really well. Thanks for sharing this deep knowledge to the public who can not attend Yale. Thanks a lot and respect.

I think in our hearts we know what should make us happy, It seems simple. This course was excellent in explaining the most up to date theories and got you to "rewire" by practicing ways to interpret the way you think about happiness. the course work was broken down into manageable pieces that were easy to achieve and understand. I am glad I took the time to do the course and I am determined to use the tools it provided me to stay happier.

In the beginning, I thought this is just another fancy course that tells you how to be happy. After the second week, the full power of the course unfolded. The combination of hard science on mental health and well-being, the constant invitation from the outstanding Prof. Lauri Santos to put things into practice, and the great structure of the course had a profound impact on me. I'd really like to see follow up courses that dive deeper in.

This was the first online course that I have taken. It was a steep learning curve as to how it all worked. Once I looked around the course website and discovered the forums. By looking over and reading some of the forum questions and answers I was able to get more organized as to how the course was going to go.
Overall taking this course and learning the current science behind happiness has been a positive experience.

This is an excellent course for anyone seeking to increase their quality of life. The lectures are well structured and easy to follow, while the list of recommended readings is plentiful for those seeking additional information.
Avoid being prematurely disenchanted by the apparent simplicity of the findings and recommendations, once you genuinely start putting into practice the course’s assignments you will be surprised with the results.

I have read several articles about this course and its benefits. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it during the pandemic. I found the combination of empirical research, perspectives of experts and the reinforcement of weekly course work to be an effective way for reinforcing intentional healthful practices. I would recommend this course for anyone seeking to increase their self-care, regardless of age and life circumstances.

I enjoyed doing this course. Week after week the professor would come up with scientifically backed ideas of happiness that go against common sense notions of happiness. The course pushed me to re-evaluate why I want something and what should i want instead in order to be happy. Do i want something because everyone has it or should I dig deeper to find a personal meaning in the things i do or acquire? Important question for everyone IMO.

After completing the course in a happy manner I felt that Professor Laurie Santos had really opened a Happiness Lab. I never enjoyed my past happy moments before this course. I am a bit shy to talk with strangers but after practicing that in this course my shyness has gone and I am talking very freely with all the people. I am very happy to build social connections with neighbors and unknown peoples. I learned a lot through this course.

Great course! Pinpoints to the true facets of happiness by emphasizing on experiences rather than on things. The rewirement exercises are super helpful. Research oriented guide to happiness as each module is presented with the results of experiments conducted. WooP - wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan is the way to make changes in the current behavior. Thank you Yale for offering this course. This my 170th MooC and the best one so far !

I think a course as such as this one is very important especially for students who needs to have to a healthy mental state to learn. How does this course help to do that you make ask, this course made me aware of the thought i was having about my academics and how it was affecting my mental state. Now I am totally aware of the things which need to be done to be happy which are in contrary to what I thought before taking up this course.

I found this course engaging and I never felt that the content was too laborious or long-winded. Each week there are several "quizzes" which makes it "entertaining". I enjoyed reflecting on ideas I had learnt and felt challenged enough without being overwhelmed! The optional extra material is a good help to accommodate people who want to get deeper into the topic! Dr. Santos is a very good, likeable and funny teacher. Highly recommend.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this course!

I found this course to be vey insightful and it also made me understand why I thought I wasn’t happy when it was really miswanting the right things. I have learnt from this course strategies to increase my happiness and that with hard work it will become easier for these strategies to become a more regular technique used in my day to day life. I would recommend this course to anyone who is wanting to have more positivity in their life.

This course has had a very positive impact on my life by helping me answer and confim many questions and suspicions I had about well being. I love how the data was represented with actual case studies and graphs. Just want to express my gratitude to the instructor and university for putting this information togeather, free online for the general public. I will be recommending the course to whoever I can because the value is fantastic!
