About the Course

The Capstone project enables you to demonstrate multiple skills by solving an authentic real-world problem. You’ll test your abilities in full-stack back-end development in a real-life scenario by composing a Django web app. Each module includes a brief recap of, and links to, content that you have covered in previous courses in this program. You will use clean and bug-free coding to create a Django web server with multiple API endpoints and connect it to a MySQL database. You’ll also create a template system driven by Django views. By the end of the course you will be able to: • Compose a backend application using multiple skills • Use Django to serve static HTML content • Commit the project to a Git repository • Connect the backend to the database • Implement the menu and table booking APIs • Set up user registration and authentication • Test the application with unit tests and Insomnia • Synthesize the skills from this course and evaluate other learners • Reflect on this project's content and on the learning path that lies ahead. On completion of the Capstone project, you’ll have a project-based portfolio that you can show to potential employers when interviewing for an engineering role. To complete this course, you will need back-end developer experience. Additionally, it always helps to have a can-do attitude!...

Back-End Developer Capstone course could have been one of the best courses in the Meta Back-End Professional Certificate. Although I really appreciate the effort behind delivering such a great project and probably within a time constraint, I must highlight two points. First, the quality control team missed some keys details. For instance, the deliverables contain some errors (quizzes and exercises in particular). Second, Coursera peer-grading system needs some improvement. I have noticed that some learners expect 100/100 even if they do not meet the evaluation criteria. If one follows the rubric by the book and therefore do not give full marks to these learners, they simply retaliate by purposefully giving only nulls to their fellow learner. This is unethical and frustrating. Additionally, it's time consuming as one has to resubmit their work, the very same work just because he/she did the right thing in the first place.

After finishing all of the courses in order to get the full certification, I've been stuck on this course due to a failure in the Final graded assessment quiz page. I've talked to the support team and after more than 1 week, the issue is still not solved and, of course, they're still charging me for a service they're clearly not providing. It's a pity because the rest of the courses were great, but this at the very end has made me very unhappy.

This course was terrible! Lab instructions were inconsistent and contradictive. Quizzes often had wrong answers and incorrect formatting. Usually I prefer the Meta courses but this one needs a major overhaul! I was hoping at the end the solution document for the final lab would provide some insight but it was even worse and didn't explain anything!

There are mistakes everywhere, and the quality of work is extremely poor. This Capstone course is a degraded copy of the Fullstack course and offers nothing to learn.

It is really a marvellous work. I am really grateful that I have chosen Meta's Back-End Developer Course. Meta has done an outstanding work. The course has all the important topics and the instructors are really best in the world. They used to explain those interesting topics in such respectful way that it really have touched my heart. I am proud that I have utilized my energy and time in right place. I would express my sincere thanks to the Meta and Coursera both. They are the reason for my professional and personal achievement that I can always accept throughout my life.

Good course. I honestly feel this project was way easier than the one from the API one, but it still goes over all of the relevant topics of the specialization in a hands-on approach.
