Course was quite Informative. I do feel that more time should have been giving to teaching the technical parts; SQL because I had to do alot of back and forth with external research to be able to thoroughly follow through.

The Bigquery Interface has since changed alot since the time these lessons were prepped to now, and so, the screenshots were confising at some point. I do understand troubleshooting is a good skill to practice, given the scenario, which I was able to pull through, but it wasn't same for a lot of folks at the discussion forums. Some even unenrolled due to this. I don't know what Cousera and google can do but that needs to be fixed.

Every other week from there was faily okay. I am looking foward to more hand-on technical practices with subsequent courses.

Every thing was almost good. Especially the instructor. She was very professional regarding eye contact and being natural in delivering concepts. But, the previous instructor was almost reading from monitor and was not natural and was distracting for me as a learner.

The reason that I did not go for 5 star is that in BigQuery, I had some difficulties at first and it was not described straightforward and also the fact that the course was not updated with new features on BigQuery, make it a bit confusing to get the hang of it.

But, the overall experience was great. I also appreciate for the valuable lessons about networking opportunities that was provided for learners. They are really helpful to join the real world's data analysts and scientists.

The course was great and it was delivered very by the instructor. The practise exercises with hands on activity was very well delivered. The course covered topics related to preparing data for the Data analysis process and it covered topics ranging from data ethics to data handling on spreadsheets and BigQuery. Hallie was great in delivering the contents of the course so well and I thank her a lot for making this course very interesting. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is starting their data analytics journey to go with this course. But sometimes the course felt a little stretched and this course might just be a revision for people who are already familiar with the data analysis process.

I enjoyed it, but the 'hard' part (BigQuery) could have been better organised. The videos contain a lot of info that is hard to grasp for newbiews, and they are all bunfled together. Then come readings that give the same info. It would be more useful to group the video and reading related to one topic together. Similarly, the excercises repeat the same task - which is a good thing, given that for people not familiar with SQL and BigQuery , like me, will surely need to do the same task a few times in order to learn how to do it properly. But this could be made clear: as it is, the number of 'hand-on' activities seems daunting. I would suggest restructuring the course to make the learning path more explicit.

The course and teaching is awesome, but

The new changes happen in reset deadline is not good, I was in my 1st time line, when i reset, it switching to new timeline and all my previous completed module is not stored in new timeline and they saying to complete again. it not fair

sometimes I don't have time to courses and modules on time, so i reset the deadline, but it become hell in learning progress. already raised many tickets regarding on this issue.

the putting pressure on ME to complete the course. I love to learn, but sometime i don't have time to learn, i am full time working, i got some free time to learn, putting pressure and the learners make more stressful,

PLEASE HELP ON THIS ISSUE

Information packed course and loved the introduction of BigQuery and how to use it to look for and use publicly available data for testing as well as allowing us to upload our own data. I particularly liked the virtual machine setup for a guided hands-on use of BigQuery. I felt though that we didn't cover enough about spreadsheets or the SQL language itself (as a professional who has been using these tools it wasn't really much of a problem) but on the other hand, that's also part of the drive in learning something new by using other online resources to learn more advanced Spreadsheet functions and capabilities as well as learn intermediate SQL skills. Love the pace, love the content.

Overall, I liked this course. I learned quite a bit in a short amount of time, and I worked hard to complete Course 3. I felt that the information I learned was relevant, and easy to retain. My only constructive criticism would be that some of the Hands On learning for week 3 be broken in to smaller separate segments so that it does not become overwhelming. This is the only part of the course I really struggled at first, and I had some trouble identifying with some of the examples. Other than this concern, two thumbs up--great instructor? My instructor made me want to learn more. She was thorough, and spoke clearly. I would like to have heard more about her origin story.

I can understand people who are complaining about this course, which is kind of similar to the previous ones. But I like this one better because it introduces some (actually) useful insight about professional social media and connections. The stuff about SQL (BigQuery) was nice too, just not very complex. It seems to me that things go a bit backwards in these courses. They try to motivate you about professional fields and often ask you to imagine what you would do in certain situations as if you were already getting a job anytime soon, when we still know nothing about real or "tough" data analysis. But well, maybe in the next courses the fun stuff finally appears.

Again, this course is a good introduction and overview of preparing data for processing. For those with zero experience, it is a great introduction. If you have previous coding experience, the BigQuery / SQL exercises will be pretty easy. My biggest criticism from this course is that there are no explanations on proper coding syntax/the why of how we code. If you've used R or SAS, coding in BigQuery is very similar. But I kept thinking to myself, if I had no coding prior coding experience to rely on, these exercises would be confusing and difficult. For example, there are no explanations of the DISTINCT, COUNT, or DESC functions and why/how they are used.

Quite well done, like the previous courses. In this one, you get the sense that this is a learn as you go through the process kid of course. Which works well for me, even though I'm not used to it. I'd appriciate, evey once in a while, a document listing all spreadsheets functions and all SQL commands learned so far, similarly as what is done for vocabulary.

At the beginning of lectures about SQL use in BigQuery, lectures seemed to assume we had a grasp of BigQuery, and that we are more familiar with SQL than we are actually supposed to be thanks to previouse course. In subsequent lectures, the order of lectures seemed a bit off too.

Love every course I have taken so far with google coursera. It hits all learning aspects whether it be someone who learns visually, listening, or physically with try it yourself walk throughs and that's what I love the most. I am someone who has to do all three to be able to grasp something.

The only reason I did not add the 5th star to this course is that with the guided work doing the SQL and the data sets websites the screen has never looked similar to the instructor's so it is extremely hard to follow along let alone understand what I am suppose to be doing since nothing really matches up anymore.

Great content and good focus on the 2nd phase of data analysis, but week 3 was FAR too long and drawn-out only to be followed by two extremely short weeks of content. The unbalance made the learning process very demotivating, not to mention how there was little to no implementation of discussion forums or learning logs, which made the learning feel very disconnected and "nitty-gritty," which is necessary of course but seems to have been overdone a little here. Overall a great and necessary course that unfortunately suffers from a poorly executed structure.

I learned a lot in this course as it covers a lot. This is where the learning curve gets steep. Some parts of the course was confusing to follow along due to changes to UI. However, the course did a good job by going step by step to more easily digest the info especially since this is the first time looking at most of the material in this course. The course provided many resources available online such as mentorship, it's really good to know. Kaggle could have been explained better for beginners though.

I really wish it was more practical. I mean, if we were given a task to solve and then the tools were introduced to ensure the solution of that task, some parts of the course would be more meaningful. In the current version, i struggled a bit to seee the value in working with the bigquery tables, such as for lightning strikes. However, the funny surprise was that such dataset in fact exists at all))) If we were offered to work with datasets relevant to a practical task, i believe, it would make more sense.

Definitely better than second module. Speaker speaks much cleaner; you feel that this stuff will be needed for you in future and also optional part is actually in optional part. You will learn basics of SQL and how to sort/filter in spreadsheets, really starts of Big Query. Get useful ideas and advices for your future. I did not put 5 stars only because it felt like there could be more additional material on SQL and more deep dig into the preparing of data

Overall, it was good.

However, it would've been helpful if they had a video on SQL syntax - a disclaimer and best practices. I got stuck on a line where the issue was using a back tick instead of a single quote. I wasted an hour on this until I figured it out. The way I figured out was googling the issue!..LOL. I know as DAs troubleshooting is part of the game, but still a quick video would've been helpful ( maybe it was there, but I forgot about it).

Thank you for a well-structured, well-instructed course that was clear about what we were to accomplish. The SQL and spreadsheet work was very helpful and useful. The discussions on data sources and tools was super--these are resources I could not have found on my own. I'm giving four stars becuase I think the level of instruction is a little too elementary. Perhaps a more get-to-the-point script would save some time? Again, thanks very much.

While the "Ask" course mostly covered softskills and general office behaviour this one is way more specific. You learn how to use BigQuery and set up datasets, table and import open source data. The you go on with real SQL queries. The videos about that are realy quick so you have to pause and rewind often. Also the interface of BigQuery changed a bit since they were recorded so you have to search for some functions but it still works completely.

Happy that we are finally getting to the "work" of the data analytics piece. All an all this was pretty easy to follow along with. Would like more hands-on examples and that the data provided in the end of course review is used in the questions. It also would be nice to know when something should be followed along with, and when we should be trying to get accounts and/or access to do what the instructor is doing at the same time.

This course is awesome. I like the way they lead me step by step over the process of preparing the data for analysis . I also love how they guide me on how to create a good networking which really benefits for me to land my job as a data analyst. However, I think the multiple-choice questions are just too easy, I hope it will be more challenge so the course takers would spend more time to reflection on.

This course definitely ramps up when you get to week 3 compared to all of the work before it. It is super informative the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because when working in SQL the program has us use BigQuery but the reading and videos dont tell you that BigQuery has some coding differences from SQL and they dont tell you that until after you have frustratingly found this out on your own.

Course three was getting into the meat and potatoes of the coursework. I was not altogether enamoured with the focus on BigQuery. I am sure there are other websites. But OK. BigQuery is a counter-intuitive site and very difficult to use and understand. I am good at wading through new programs, and this one was hard for me. Also, some of the test questions are coded with the wrong answers marked correct.

Pretty good overall. There was one or two sections that seem to throw me off. It was the two sections regarding writing code and it was difficult to remember the correct syntax. I also found the intro to Kaggle a little intimidating. I also feel that the screen shots and directions on using Google BigQuery need to be updated. I couldn't find some of the commands during the exercises.

A little misleading in it's modules. In module 3 I think you are learning about types of data, so simple terminology, and then all of a sudden at the end of the module you get hit with multiple long segments involving BigQuery. While I appreciate being taught BigQuery it would be nice if the module was title BigQuery or SQL so that the user knows this is going to be a bit more involved.
