About the Course

This is the fourth course in the Google Project Management Certificate program. This course will delve into the execution and closing phases of the project life cycle. You will learn what aspects of a project to track and how to track them. You will also learn how to effectively manage and communicate changes, dependencies, and risks. As you explore quality management, you will learn how to measure customer satisfaction and implement continuous improvement and process improvement techniques. Next, you will examine how to prioritize data, how to use data to inform your decision-making, and how to effectively present that data. Then, you will strengthen your leadership skills as you study the stages of team development and how to manage team dynamics. After that, you will discover tools that provide effective project team communication, how to organize and facilitate meetings, and how to effectively communicate project status updates. Finally, you will examine the steps of the project closing process and how to create and share project closing documentation. Current Google project managers will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on approaches for accomplishing these tasks while showing you the best project management tools and resources for the job at hand. Learners who complete this program should be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as project managers. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Identify what aspects of a project to track and compare different tracking methods. - Discuss how to effectively manage and communicate changes, dependencies, and risks. - Explain the key quality management concepts of quality standards, quality planning, quality assurance, and quality control. - Describe how to create continuous improvement and process improvement and how to measure customer satisfaction. - Explain the purpose of a retrospective and describe how to conduct one. - Demonstrate how to prioritize and analyze data and how to communicate a project’s data-informed story. - Identify tools that provide effective project team communication and explore best practices for communicating project status updates. - Describe the steps of the closing process for stakeholders, the project team, and project managers....

This course was hard to learn with a variety of activities, assessments etc. But having said that, the course helped me with a great clarity around how to run a project at different levels. Many topics, activities were new to me and thanks for all efforts put in by the team. Getting confident in making this happen in my current role as well, if given a chance.

This course is very comprehensive. Elita seems so passionate about the subject, I think she is excellent at her work, and her charisma is just wow! It was never boring to listen to her, she really made me want more to get a new job as project manager when this certificate is finished. Thank you, everyone, who worked on the creation of this program.

Excellent Course!

It covers all areas needed to complete a successful project. I really enjoyed the discussions around the closing a project section. Extremely important activity. We are frequently rushed to start another project but successfully closing a project is just as important as starting a new one, especially for the project team.

There're a lot more terms and definitions in this Course compared to previous ones, and it makes this Course harder and more rewarding to finish.

Even after finishing the course, there're still many things that take time to experience and master to actually contribute a lot more to the success of your project, your team and your own career

Very interesting course. It is amazing how small details get analyzed and how useful they could have been if properly implemented in the past. It is a very intense course covering many fundamental areas, from skillfully writing an email to produce the right documentation for closing a project. Thumbs up. I had a great time learning.

Great course! We should all adopt the "learning by doing" methodology for greater interest.

I look forward to doing a Project / Program / Portfolio / Product Manager job at Google, helping billions of people worldwide with my knowledge and skills. I wish I will be recruited soon by seniors at Google.

Thank you. Have a nice day. :)

This course pulls the team management and communication piece of Project Management all together. It also ties in all answers several areas that I had placed a mental thought here and there while learning. Which now makes sense when you end a module, and the instructor says we will learn more about this in a later module.

The course is an excellent reminder about the importance of not only running a project but closing it. The exercises are well thought out and provide fundamental insight into how to communicate with stakeholders and project members. I would recommend it to anyone getting into project management and anyone wanting a refresh.

I loved the course and its contents.

Elita is an excellent communicator and I loved the way and dynamism she puts in the videos. Congratulations Elita!

I would like to have more questions about the contents during, or at the end of the videos. To confirm that I am acquiring and absorbing the necessary knowledge.

Thank you :)

I have a small business and this specialization has been deeply helpful. I have been learning so much valuable and practical content that helps me managing my business better. I'd say that this is what I enjoy the most about the specialization as a whole, it's really hands-on and this improves my learning journey.

I liked the instructor the best in this course so far. They were more engaging. I do think that it focused more on communication rather than the flow of a project during it, but I do think it held a lot of great information and I liked that the material was more spread out. It worked better with my busy schedule.

My last year 2022 ended with a lot of challenges and blown-off opportunities, and for me this means starting on a new adventure by engaging myself in self paced learning and development tasks. I had achieved my goals somehow but my two last courses of Google Project management remained. That's the only lament

I really enjoyed this course. I learned that a proper closing is important to how future projects are handled and assigned. Closeout is the part that people are so happy to get to but don't necessarily want to do. If handled properly, the next project will already be ready for you to start with much ease.

One more course with lots of interesting and well-structured content (as always), but a bit long. I especially liked the last part - "Closing a project" - I had no idea that just because a project is done doesn't mean it's closed. All criteria, steps to take and documentation to be addressed... Amazing!
