About the Course

This is the third course in the Google Project Management Certificate program. This course will explore how to map out a project in the second phase of the project life cycle: the project planning phase. You will examine the key components of a project plan, how to make accurate time estimates, and how to set milestones. Next, you will learn how to build and manage a budget and how the procurement processes work. Then, you will discover tools that can help you identify and manage different types of risk and how to use a risk management plan to communicate and resolve risks. Finally, you will explore how to draft and manage a communication plan and how to organize project documentation. Current Google project managers will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on approaches for accomplishing these tasks while showing you the best project management tools and resources for the job at hand. Learners who complete this program should be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as project managers. No previous experience is necessary. This is a perfectly prepared course. the videos and activities were simply perfect. I learnt a great deal from this.

i would recommend it to anyone wanting in-depth knowledge of Project management.

I recently completed the Project Planning: Putting it all together course certification offered by Google on Coursera, and I must say that I am quite impressed with the overall quality of the course. The course is well-structured and covers all the key concepts of project planning, such as identifying project goals, developing project plans, and executing those plans effectively.

The course is delivered through a series of videos, readings, and quizzes, which are all very informative and easy to understand. The videos are of high quality and the instructors are very knowledgeable and engaging. The course also includes a number of hands-on exercises, which are designed to help you apply the concepts learned in the course to real-world scenarios.One of the things I appreciated most about the course was the emphasis on practicality.

The course does an excellent job of providing you with the tools and techniques you need to plan and execute projects effectively, regardless of the industry you work in. The course also emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication, which are critical skills for any project manager.

Overall, I highly recommend the Project Planning: Putting it all together course certification offered by Google on Coursera.

Maybe this is not a problem of the course itself, but the technologies available today: to explain the reason why I put 4 stars and not 5, I make an example. We were teached, and I agree, that information should be distributed and exchanged very carefully, each actor should receive and manage only information relevant to him, but then the tools presented or mentioned to manage communication and store documentation do not allow natively this need, so e.g. if I need to have a documentation repository on the cloud with 6 types of access, it is virtually impossible for me to manage this natively, I will probably need to have 6 different google drive accesses (and this could be difficult to manage, as currently on each pc only 4 google drive users can be activated, so the project manager really could have many technical difficulties in managing all the repositories. Other similar situations exist, due to limitations of technologies, e.g. in ASANA the process of monitoring work progress with objective indicators is manual and so not so easy to perform.

I think some of the documents and tools could be better learned if they were all constructed during the videos, just like what they did with the project plan. Many documents were taught only on documents and left margin for many information that were not detailed. For example, the "Decision Tree" was not shown or shared as a document. I also keep my constructive critic about having a final PDF document listing all the tools and templates in one place like a textbook to be used as future reference and help to study and consult. Maybe the parts of building a CV, professional profile, OKR´s and such, could be better places in the end of the whole certification instead of bits and pieces in each and every course. Great educational course, even though it can be improved.

Overall the course was OK and gave many ideas on how to structure practices and keep ideas and processes organized.

There are some challenges with the peer-graded assignment system. Although it can be fun when you are reviewing/being reviewed by a participant who is very engaged with the course, on the other hand it can be frustrating when your work is failed because of the other party not grading according to the objective grading criteria prepared and according to a misunderstanding or incorrect completion of the assignment on their part.

On top of this, the grading system takes time. It is even lengthier if you encounter incorrect reviews and have to resubmit your work to be re-reviewed as your waiting time then multiplies.

My feedback for this module is, I think Communication plan (Week 5) could have been made a little more interesting, because I found it a bit dry and purely theoretical. But nevertheless, I enjoyed the "Project planning" module. Risk management was my favorite of all the topics and I enjoyed working on the activity. After Risk management, I would say I enjoyed learning about Scheduling and Budget management.

Another feedback I have for Coursera is a technical one. When I watch my videos full-screen and hit on the space key, not all the videos seem to pause/play. It would be easy for us as learners to have the option to pause or play the video using space key, instead of hovering the mouse to pause/play.

Love Love the expand interactive prompts that allows you to apply what you've just learned through matching, fill in the blank, and creating a fishbone diagram. I think they should all be action prompts compared to the ones that you just click through with more description.

The tests are wonderful. Especially if you get something wrong, it leads you to where you can find the correct information and go back and re-read.

I'm not a fan of the assignments that needed to be graded by others, due to the wait. But the exercise does give us an opportunity to actually create a document versus just reading about it or looking at examples.

This class was the most challenging so far. It was a lot of information to take in but there was also information that wasn't needed. For example, there is a whole section in Week 5 of the course that is optional and isn't needed unless you aren't up to date on your resume or profesional profile. There were also a lot of quizzes in the course which could be seen as testing for understanding but they got to be more of busy work. Overall, it did great to fill llmy portfolio with the documents that we created. I loved that aspect of the course (the hands-on nature). I like that I brought tangible things out of a course.
