Imagine slashing your task completion time by 40% while boosting the quality of your work by 18%—that's the power of AI tools like ChatGPT (MIT, 2023). This Guided Project was created to help beginners leverage ChatGPT 4o to enhance their workflow, streamline brainstorming, and refine content effectively.
In this 1-hour, project-based course, you will learn how to design precise prompts, collaborate with ChatGPT to brainstorm and transform content, and apply AI principles to diverse use cases beyond social media. To achieve this, you will create a series of AI-generated content outputs by working through scenarios that simulate the real-world challenges of modern content creation. This project is unique because it focuses on using ChatGPT as a versatile creative partner, not just for social media but across any field where AI can enhance brainstorming, iteration, and refinement. To be successful in this project, you will need basic computer skills, an internet connection, and a willingness to explore AI's potential.
In a video that plays in a split-screen with your work area, your instructor will walk you through these steps:
Log into ChatGPT, observe the key features and navigation elements, and learn how to start a new chat and input basic commands.
Create simple prompts, such as "Write a short description of a sunrise," to see how input affects AI responses. Reflect on how the initial prompts influence the type of output received.
Identify vague areas in a basic prompt and add layers of detail and context. Practice refining a sample prompt by adding specific details.
Compare refined outputs to the original, noting the improvements. Analyze how refining prompts with specific details enhances the quality and relevance of AI-generated content.
Use ChatGPT to create an initial draft and make iterative refinements for improved clarity, engagement, and style.
Refining iteratively using different prompt techniques, and testing the AI's responses.
Choose a topic for generating content using ChatGPT (e.g., creating a social media post about an upcoming event), and create initial prompts to brainstorm ideas related to the chosen topic.
Refine the prompts based on initial outputs to enhance specificity and context. Iteratively transform the content to polish and align it with desired goals
Reflect on the effectiveness of their prompts and transformations, considering how different strategies produced varied results. Evaluate the outputs using established frameworks.
Finalize the content plan, organizing the refined content into a week-long social media calendar, specifying the types of posts, timing, and platforms for publication.
Basic computer skills, web navigation, and familiarity with social media. Curiosity and willingness to learn AI interaction.
