Medical Office Procedures and Administration Fundamentals is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the essential administrative tasks required for smooth operation in a medical office. Topics include patient scheduling, medical billing and coding, managing patient records, and understanding the role of healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, in maintaining confidentiality and compliance. By the end of the course, students will have developed the practical skills and knowledge to effectively manage daily office operations, coordinate patient care, and support healthcare providers in a variety of medical settings.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will apply their knowledge of professional behavior and office interaction, patient intake and HIPAA compliance, and medical records management to review three case studies related to the Medical Administrative Assistant role. Learners will provide peer review on each other's work, which will allow them to compare how they respond to the case studies with how their peers responded to the case studies.
