This specialization is the perfect introduction for anyone interested in a career in mental health care. Through three courses, students will learn the history and development of mental health disorders and how mental health evolves over the course of an individual’s life. Additionally, this specialization provides training on the importance of professionalism in a healthcare environment, skills necessary for any individual with a future interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals.
IMPORTANT: This specialization is not designed to prepare students for national certification. Enrollees will gain the foundational/fundamental knowledge on subject matter relevant to the profession. However, to gain industry certification, a more comprehensive program must be completed through enrollment via approved/eligible schools such as MedCerts.
Applied Learning Project
Learns will apply their knowledge of development difficulties, challenges, and disorders for particular stages of life to review three case studies related to clients at various stages of life and answer questions related to these case studies. Learners will provide peer review on each other's work, which will allow them to compare how they responded to the case studies versus how their peers responded to the case studies.
