About the Course

In a world of conflicting nutrition messages, how do we know which foods are good for us? What are the components of a healthy dietary pattern and why does it matter? Throughout this mini course, we explore the relationship between diet and health by examining the eating patterns that have been shown to prevent chronic diet-related conditions. We touch on the nutritional components of the foods and beverages common in healthy eating patterns and explore strategies that can help you make the shift to better food choices. By the end of this course, you should feel more confident identifying and building a healthy plate. This course is offered by the Gerald D. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University....

The course is very practical and interesting and the lecturers' recommendations can be easily applied in everyday life. She learned some surprising facts about certain nutrients. Applying this advice will certainly have a positive impact on my health (and that of my family too). I used a recipe from resources suggested by lecturers.

This has been the best on line course I have taken for health. Interesting, informative and easy to apply to life. Speakers were clear. Most importantly the course was recently updated. The information is current where many courses are years behind.

it is clear and well illustrated and I especially liked the fact that the biological classification and culinary ones were differentiated and explained. It's a shame that the units are only expressed in american ones, as the course would also benefit a lot of people outside the US and don't know what an oz is

promoted the use of dairy products and animal products which I and many others believe to be unhealthy. See Doctors Michael Greger, Michael Klaper and Neal Barnard. see slso Switch4Good. Did enjoy the other material though.
