The example given in each video was very helpful in understanding how things work on the internet.
Overall experience was great as it was basically about basics and introduction to web development.

Honestly, pretty solid course. A lot of people were saying this course isn't for beginners but I would strongly disagree. I think the difficulty is FAIR, and really gets your brain thinking logically.

This first class of the specialization is okay, but there's definitely usability improvements: the closed captioning regularly does not align with the speaker, and she speaks a bit fast. It's frustrating when I'm spending time trying to understand something just because the speaker spoke too fast and swallowed her words. On the plus side most of the closed captioning is correct (I've seen other Coursera classes with poor captioning). I am also disappointed that they talk about accessibility, and then proceed to never use the stuff discussed (like alt text for photos) in any of the later exercises. A small thing, and this might just be me, the summary videos at the end of each section feel pretty pointless because it just basically repeats a syllabus to you, but I guess that's a teaching style. The exercise I messed up the most was the padding size one, I guess check outside resources for that if you're confused (but maybe its just me). Oh there's also a silly bug in one of their exercises where it asks you to add a link to "meta.com", but the tests are looking for "facebook.com" I did learn some familiarity with css and html, so there's that. It isn't a whole lot of coding, but I guess as a beginning class you start somewhere. Hoping the next course is helpful.

Overall I have been satisfied with this course, and I intend to take the next course. I am starting from zero experience in anything tech related, and sometimes I feel like the course uses jargin or dives into concepts that I'm either supposed to already know, or catch on much more quickly. But, luckily (and possibly the point), I can review, re-read/watch content and google questions. I have many times extended my deadlines, and am learning at a slow pace, but that's the beauty of a casual online course like this.
Also, I'm obviously no expert in the field, nor am I a teacher, but sometimes I feel that if this is to teach beginners, providing less info at one time could be beneficial. For example, I understand why they start off explaining how the internet works, but at the same time, its a lot of confusing and complicated information that won't really effect learning how to code. Sometimes less is more.

This course is great for people entering web development or trying to get a refresher. The course material is quick and can become overwhelming at times if you have never done anything web related. This is okay! re watch the videos and take time to research anything that confuses you. Don't go down the framework/library rabbit hole, their are tons of frameworks and libraries out their. Coursera teaches Bootstrap and React (for obvious reasons). Learning these will bring you up to speed with what they do and how they work, once mastery is achieved over them, then you can proceed to learn the next. I cannot stress enough that there is no "Right" framework to use! start with one and move to the next if you wish. Front-End Web Development focus on HTML, CSS and JavaScript, if all of these are learned properly frameworks and libraries will come naturally.

A great introductory course I must say..there can still be many improvements such as fixing some issues in the lab part and adding an open ended project for us to build in the end using the knowledge provided in the course by listing us some features it should include. Theoretical wise , the course has a steep learning curve for us to explore some stuff on our own using the links provided. Now I know the point of course was to introduce some of the main technologies used in frontend but still I believe introducing react and bootstrap was kind of overwhelming at this point , the HTML and CSS part could have been extended to give us a lot more practice and introducing intermediate stuff of these general technologies . Overall, it is a good to go course for a beginner as I am a beginner too.

A very informative introduction course. Very short and very sweet. Introduces core concepts of Internet and Information Tech. that would be directly relevant to a beginner webdev who may not have much learning to do with Computers. Took me around 5 days, though I am familiar with a number of these concepts already.
Work-load: Light
Work-relevance: High (You're thrown directly in with good guidance and explanation)
Very short and slightly dense course. If you're completely new to these concepts you may wish to take it slower than I did to fully absorb and compartmentalize the information presented. Though that shouldn't be too hard considering nothing is introduced without an accompanying example or reference material.

I found the course to be a bit disappointing. Since I am a false beginner with some prior knowledge, I decided to start off easy, and the first 1.5 weeks were just that. But then, suddenly, from basic tags I was moved to Bootstrap and React, and while I didn't have too much of a problem grasping the subjects, it did seem out of place to move from ABSOLUTE basics to frameworks and libraries.
Also, I found the way the labs are built a bit repelling. Lots of bugs in there, including shaving off 2% from one of my scores because I added a link to meta.com instead of a profile (which was explicitly stated to have been possible).
We'll see what the next one brings.

In general the course is very good, and it might be a bit too fast for students with no knowledge of Frontend. But my main complaint is the insistence on using grey color graphics in the videos, like displaying code snippets in grey color which increases the difficulty of understanding the code, another funny thing was the graphics explaining the types of buttons in Bootsrap, which was displayed as different grey scale colors. Another thing is the "Alternatives to React" section which in reality was complimentary JS libraries that work well with React, the real React alternatives are Angular, VueJS, and Svelte.

It went very fast, I have a background in web development so I was able to follow it but there are alot of topics that are covered or discussed that would be very hard to follow if you had no clue. They are also never touched on again such as covering React but never showing it or spending time on HTTP codes but never showing them in action.
Over all I think it makes for a great introduction if you are the type of person who is comfortable being confused and waiting until you can do your own research to put the puzzle together.

I loved the way the classes are handled for a beginner like me to understand everything clearly and easily. I look forward to learn more skills from Meta instructors. Now I have that confidence to complete the other part of this huge program. I'm very satisfied with the pace as well. Although the course is pretty good, there are issues with the LAB functionality provided by COURSERA. It's frustrating sometimes because of the loading time.

Very good introduction to Web-development. The course is well planned, covers the most important topics for beginners, it is easy to understand the material. Also, the course has well-described Web labs where you can use your skills and practice with HTML/CSS - there is no need to install any software or configure dev environment on your laptop. Unfortunately, there are some typos in slides and tests - but it is not a big deal.

Course is easy enough to follow.
With short videos and short readings, it's easy to complete a week's course in a few hours, a day or two.
However, some of the hands on practice can be annoying, because the feedback from the computer isn't that helpful. It then takes longer to complete the work, because of the eight hour wait time, which is good for studying, but if the error is realize, we have to wait longer to answer.

Pro: A great course to start your frontend development journey. The course is well-organized and supplemented properly with additional reading resources. The quizzes and lab practicals help in gaining practical knowledge.
Con: if you are an absolute beginner, you might want to watch a few introductory videos on YouTube or perhaps take a few LinkedIn essential courses to avoid confusion.

This course is an excellent choice for beginners looking to kickstart their journey in front-end development. It offers comprehensive coverage of essential topics, including internet protocols, HTML, CSS, and popular libraries. It is highly popular among aspiring developers and provides valuable insights to build a strong foundation in this field.

This course moves through topics very quickly... so unless you have some background exposure to web development, you may need to slow down and research some topics in more depth as you move through the modules. I have some limited experience with basic web development, and this course was a great refresher to prepare for future courses.

I love the straight and simple approach used by the tutors. It gives you 25% of the skill and guides u to get the remaining 75%. I recommend the course. The certificate is quite a motivation to pursue the courses. I am happy to find a platform to support me into the journey towards software development and full-stack developer

This course is perfect for beginners. The pace was good and the knowledge shared was enough to make a simple website. The teaching picked up pace during Bootstrap which was rather disappointing because it was a tough-to-grasp topic but overall I would definitely recommend this course to anyone starting with Web Development.

Very interactive, simple and engaging course.
Explanation is very well presented and everything learned is easily practiced in the course lab assignments.
There are some little mistakes in, like misspellings in some words and missed intervals on some code examples.
Overall, great experience on this part of the whole course.

I really enjoyed the course, and it explains most of the basic concepts for you from the get-go, but I'd love to have a bit more of hands-on exercises along side with the texts and explaining showing more of those concepts in action. Still, it's an excellent course to take in if you want to dive into Web development.

I like the breakdown of the modules and courses. Everything is good except the animations, I guess. I mean it is because I am a visual learner and I think it's better to improve their animations in the video lessons to fully understand what the instructor is explaining whether you are a visual learner or not.
