About the Course

In the third and final course of the Computer Vision for Engineering and Science specialization, you will learn to track objects and detect motion
in videos. Tracking objects and detecting motion are difficult tasks but are required for applications as varied as microbiology and autonomous
systems. To track objects, you first need to detect them. You’ll use pre-trained deep neural networks to perform object detection. You’ll also use
optical flow to detect motion and use the results to detect moving objects. At the end of this course, you’ll apply all the skills learned in this
specialization to a final project. You’ll take the role of an engineer being asked to track cars on a busy highway with the adde...

The Object Tracking course is a valuable use of time, but pursuing a Matlab specialization in Computer Vision can be even more beneficial. It offers an outstanding opportunity to learn Matlab and Computer Vision concurrently.

The content of this course was an excellent introduction to computer vision and its thought process. I was impressed with the engagement offered by the interactive activities accompanying the content. Where I was really let down was the one module where I needed help and reached out to MathWorks to ask for it. I carefully explained my situation through a help request, but I was dismissed twice: first being referred to Coursera support for a grievance with the MathWorks Grader App, and again when I clarified it was a MathWorks product and was subsequently referred to the hardly-used Coursera Discussion Forum. I really enjoy MATLAB, so it sucks that they would meet my request for help with such blatant dishonesty.
