This was a good course and I did learn a few things, although I will say it felt pretty entry-level. If you are familiar with a lot of social media channels, then it will be covering a lot of basics. However, it does cover topics such as creating SMART goals for marketing campaigns, measuring your progress through KPIs, and creating a consumer profile and journey to better target those campaigns. Still skimming the surface. I wouldn't say I'm ready to start working as a social media manager quite yet, but hoping I will feel more equipped as I work my way through the rest of the modules.

update: Though the beginning was ridiculously drug out it did eventually start having course information. Hard push on the greatness of Facebook products (no surprise here since they own FB) A LOT of extra stuff could be removed to save time, bunches of tiny videos that don't really teach anything, just tell what is coming next. Hopeful that the next one is better

This seems to be a trend with these more popular courses but I have completed 15% of the course and learned nothing. Literally just fluff you could learn from the course description being repeated over and over.

If you are expecting a more in depth course that teaches the nitty gritty of Facebook ads management for a successful social media campaign, this is not the one. And if you have some experience in marketing, this will be pretty basic.

But if you are new to social media marketing, this course covers a more macro understanding of the top social media platforms, how to choose which works best your brand. The course basically teaches you the proper way to draft and start any social media plan.

This is a solid introductory course for someone who has never worked with social media or marketing before. The steps build off of one another and are easy to learn. While sponsored by META, it really focused on META products which does not encompass much of the market. The course also panders to ideal company values without opening up more about financial bottom lines and social media rules of engagement, both of which are more important to companies.

Some useful information but a majority of it was very redundant or didn't go into enough detail. Not quite what I was expecting but still had some information I didn't already know. Definitely glad I was approved for financial aid because I don't feel it would have been worth paying for it unless you are VERY illiterate with social media. If you're a millennial, save your money. You probably know or can easily teach yourself the content of this course.

The course itself is really great! I love the teacher and the content. However, there's a worksheet that is required for the assignment in Understanding Your Audience which cannot be opened, and has left me stuck and unable to proceed, despite contacting Coursera and them following up with the partner over a week ago. It's disappointing not being able to continue on-time with a course I was really enjoying!
