"I decided to switch from restaurant management to IT for several reasons. My wife and I were expecting our first child, so I decided to move into a career that I was passionate about. I was an excellent restaurant manager, but I excelled at it without any passion. It was just a job. I was on call around the clock, and I could never take time for myself at home. I also wanted to be able to provide a better life for my family, while giving myself a better life, too. After completing the certificate, I began talking to an IT recruiter and ended up landing the first job I interviewed for!"
“A year ago, I lived in a shelter with my daughters. Thanks to Coursera and the Grow with Google initiative, I'm starting a career with Google that will help me maintain a sustainable lifestyle for my family. The program’s content enabled me to speak knowledgeably throughout my interviews and implement practical uses for what I covered in the courses. Learning with Coursera gave me the flexibility to take courses on my own time. Without the flexibility to get up at 4 am to finish work while my daughters sleep, I’d never have been able to earn my certificate so quickly.”
"After my time in the military and spending more than a decade working in a call center, I felt burnt out. I wanted a change. I wanted to start working in IT. The Google IT Support Professional Certificate helped give me the confidence to apply for IT roles. I don't have a traditional background, but the Google program propelled me forward. When I first got my new job, my role was a typical help desk role, but my ability to learn quickly allowed me to dive into working with switches, troubleshooting routers, network installations, infrastructure planning and implementation, and more.”

Explore top-quality degrees that you can complete at your pace from a world-class university. Many degrees have courses or Specializations you can start today. After you are accepted to the program, the material you complete will count toward your degree coursework.
A career learning path is a set of curated courses that together comprise a learning plan for achieving the skills necessary to land a specific role, and launch and advance a specific career.
We work with experts in a given career field to understand the skills needed, and with our own career and content teams to ensure we're recommending the right courses to help learners achieve their career goals and learn the right skills.
Time to completion varies based on your schedule and experience level, but based on the experience of other learners, you can expect to complete all the courses in a learning path in about 6-8 months.
We suggest following courses in the order recommended in the path especially if you’re just getting started in the field. Depending on how much experience you may already possess, you can potentially start with more advanced content. The paths are flexible, however, so you should feel free to adapt a suggested path to suit your particular goals.
If you are interested in taking multiple courses in a career learning path, we recommend Coursera Plus, a subscription plan that provides unlimited access to over 3000+ courses. Visit the Coursera Plus page to make sure the courses you plan to take are included, and to learn more about how you can save money on your learning with a subscription model.
You will earn shareable Certificates for each course, Guided Project, Specialization, or Professional Certificate that you complete as a part of a career learning path. You do not earn a separate certificate for the career path itself. If you are interested in earning credit that can count toward a degree program, we encourage you to explore a MasterTrack™ Certificate or degree program offering on Coursera.
We’re working hard to develop more career learning paths based on the needs of learners on Coursera and we’d love to get your feedback. Please fill out this brief survey to suggest a career learning path you’d like to see offered.
