Great beginner course, No coding knowledge needed, If i could improve 1 thing about this course I would ask for a more in depth dive into Xcode and really understanding the platform more.

Make sure you repeat videos, and have a basic technological understanding of how technology works before starting this course. Take the time to understand terminology as it moves quickly

I take off one star for that this course doesn't have Russian language subtitles ( there are a lot of languages) and one star for that sometimes you don't understand steps , for example, in working in xcode and you ay ask it but only on forum and in that forum i think its rare when somebody can help you ( it would be nice if it will be some more active community, where students can in live time to communicate and you will have some curator for course). other nice thing is that lector was nice , because she was talking with nice pronunciation and you may understand what she saying. i will try next step - I hope it will be nice

Foundations and concepts are well explained. It gives an overview of the architecture for iOS apps and mobile development in general. You also get introduced to XCode and the Mac ecosystem. However, the content needs to be updated, which is experienced especially during the coding assignment. Also, there is an opinion on Storyboard versus SwiftUI, which is no longer valid. It would benefit from being updated. Week 3: Don't follow the video code exercise; wait until it is in article form (by the end of the course).

The content felt rushed, especially when it came time to building exercises in Xcode. And the information given lacked appropriate context on how to handle certain errors (the errors mentioned in this course are NOT the only errors I ran into). Also, it's a bit unprofessional to lead learners to believe that they've mastered this content, when in reality this is a mere stepping stone. I would appreciate these types of courses more if companies were simply honest about that and gave better direction.

Xcode is a problem to get for Windows and Coursera does not offer remote access of Xcode program. I had to borrow someone else's computer and it is not convenient, otherwise, I would continue the course.
I suggest Coursera to add some sort of access to Xcode other than installation, either remote access or else.
Contact me, if there are any changes in that. Thanks!
But the delivery of the speech was quite professional, I like lectures.

Final project needs to walk through the steps and why they are done. Pointless to just copy and paste the code and hitting run. The previous videos go through what they do but don't talk about the various variables that certain functions can use and would give people a better idea of what they are copy and pasting.

This is a decent introduction to using Xcode and learning Swift. There's room for improvement, though. When building the video player in Xcode, I ran into several errors that I did not know how to resolve, and the course made no mention of how to resolve significant errors.

jumps from "what is an app" to "make this app" they tell you what the code is to make it work but don't really teach you the why or how. It's like this was made for someone who knows how to code in Swift but doesn't know what an app is. left me confused for the most part

To be honest I expected more. This course will not be easy for a complete newbie as the operations and the code itself are hardly explained and you don't know what you are doing. I've seen better courses and they weren't from 'Meta' ...

The instructor spoke very quickly at times, especially when going over specific coding examples. It felt rushed compared to the rest of the course.

Definitely NOT a course for beginners, you need to know how to code in order to use the course.

Title: Exhausted by the Course: Too Much Theory, Not Enough Practice Rating: ⭐ As a participant in this course, I must express my deep disappointment with the learning approach adopted. While the subject matter is undoubtedly important, the excessive focus on theoretical aspects has left me feeling drained and weary. The course content seems to prioritize lectures and discussions over practical, hands-on learning experiences. Instead of immersing students in real-world scenarios or providing interactive exercises, the majority of the time is spent passively absorbing information through lectures. This one-sided approach fails to engage learners effectively and fails to reinforce concepts in a meaningful manner. Moreover, the pace of the course feels sluggish. Weeks go by with little opportunity for active participation or practical application of the material. This lack of momentum only adds to the sense of fatigue and frustration among participants. In essence, while the course may cover the necessary theoretical foundations, its failure to balance theory with practical application has resulted in a draining learning experience. As a student, I long for a more dynamic and engaging approach that encourages active participation and fosters a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Until then, I fear that many participants, myself included, will continue to feel exhausted by the course's inadequacies.
