About the Course

Create High-Fidelity Designs and Prototypes in Figma is the fifth course in a certificate program that will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, you will follow step-by-step tutorials to learn how to create high-fidelity designs, called mockups, in Figma, a popular design tool. Then, you’ll turn those designs into an interactive prototype that works like a finished product. You’ll conduct research to collect feedback about your designs and make improvements. Finally, you’ll learn how to share your designs with development teams and highlight your work in your professional UX portfolio. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios. Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Build mockups and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma. - Define and apply common visual design elements and principles. - Demonstrate how design systems can be used to organize, standardize, and enhance designs. - Understand the role of design critique sessions and feedback while iterating on designs. - Learn how to hand off finished design projects to engineering teams. - Complete mobile app designs to include in a professional UX portfolio. This course is suitable for beginner-level UX designers who have completed the previous four courses of the Google UX Design Certificate. Alternatively, learners who have not completed the previous courses should have a strong understanding of the design process, how to create low-fidelity designs on paper and in Figma, and how to conduct usability studies....

Great course, I've really learned a lot about creating design systems, mockups, prototypes and more with Figma, and also how it connects to the wider aspects of working as a UX/UI or visual designer.

I would assert that the Google UX course itself exhibits commendable qualities. However, it is imperative to address a significant concern pertaining to the evaluation and assessment of assignments within the course. The method by which students' assignments are rated warrants reevaluation, as it appears to fall short of delivering a comprehensive and constructive feedback loop.

One pivotal issue lies in the current system's reliance on peer evaluation, as it entrusts the assessment of assignments to fellow students who may not possess the requisite expertise to provide nuanced and insightful critiques. This approach may inadvertently lead to inaccuracies in the feedback and ratings, thereby diminishing the overall educational experience.

In lieu of this, it is suggested that a more judicious approach be adopted, involving professionals or coaches with expertise in the field of UX. Their involvement could greatly enhance the quality of feedback provided to students, ensuring that assessments are more accurately aligned with the course's objectives.

Furthermore, the need for dedicated and well-informed evaluators becomes evident when considering the shortcomings of the current system. Incompetent assessors may not be equipped to elucidate the reasons behind their evaluations adequately. Their comments, often lacking in substance, may hinder students' ability to improve their work effectively.

In conclusion, while the Google UX course itself holds significant merit, there is room for improvement in the assignment evaluation process. A transition towards professional assessment, accompanied by a commitment to providing constructive feedback, would undoubtedly elevate the course's overall quality and ensure that students receive a more enriching educational experience.

I liked finally creating the hi fidelity version. i did feel like some of the stuff was cut and paste from the other assignments, but maybe that's by design?

Excellent course, could need a bit more mentoring since peer reviews are insufficient.

Too many people do not take these courses seriously. They skim by in the courses, which ultimately has hurt the validity of the Google UX course.

What a journey it has been . After months of working while completing this course I'm proud to say that I've completed the Google UX Design Certificate provided by Google and Coursera . It was great learning from professionals that have been in the industry for a while and gaining skills that'll forever be branded with me as I continue this journey into UX . I really enjoyed the 7 courses as all of them are very detailed , especially the last few courses where the pace really picks up and mimics a real working environment with deadlines . I would like to thank the instructors Michael Dedrick , Emily Schlemmer , Shabnam Kashani , Paolo Malabuyo , Lisa Fischer , Juan Angustia , and all the other instructors and team members for helping me along this journey . This is only the beginning and I still have a lot to learn as I keep going on but it'll only keep going up from here .

I enjoyed this course so much! Thank you Coursera & Google for giving me this opportunity! I have great satisfaction that I've overcome all the challenges and I feel so fulfilled when I see the final results. While doing this course I've learned that iteration a lot gives you great results. Also, it’s very important to pay attention to personal biases and accept ideas that may contradict your assumptions.

In the beginning, everything seemed so challenging but after I took everything step by step patiently I noticed that wasn't as difficult as I thought will be!

Just completed a comprehensive course on UX design, where I dived into the fundamental stages of the design process. It has been an incredible journey of learning and growth, and I'm thrilled to have reached this milestone.

During the course, I gained valuable insights and practical skills in empathizing with users, defining their needs, and generating innovative ideas to address their pain points. Understanding the importance of putting users at the center of the design process has been eye-opening.

The course was excellent in theoretical and practical content.

But I must say something negative that I had and that was in the weekly challenges where some corrections from my colleagues were subjective and in some cases they did not correct and put 0 points and I had to restart the process several times without modifying my presentation that was already complete. That just creates a very bad user experience. They should be able to somehow control that it fixes well, for example with an AI.

This course was very important because it summed up all the research and design iterations of the mobile app I've been developing since I started this program. It was a pleasure to learn Material Design and other design systems with all those colors, fonts, icons, and other visual richness. The quality of the materials is still top notch and the tutors and examples are good. Thanks to Google and Coursera, I have had a rich experience from this training.

Usability studies are really useful to find things that we don't even notice and help us to iterate. I learned a lot about Figma and had to watch supplemental videos in order to do some iterations on my app. I have learned a lot but the final exercise has taken me a long time although most of the images to upload and contents I already had from previous exercises, maybe just for that this week should be more days

Very well done. A word of caution though, the course cannot obviously provide the "practice" and experience needed to make something that is "up to standards", so to say. You'll have to practice a lot on your own and watch supplementary tutorial (this helps greatly), or even start gaining experience "on the field" on your own if you truly want to recreate what's presented in the course. Take care ~

Every designers should be honored. I push my ideas out of my brain like I'm giving birth to my damn app. Design really needs a lot of hard work. I feel like spending my whole life to complete a satisfactory prototype. Then I feel like spending my next life to create an appealing portfolio presentation. Though no one really cares about my hardwork on Behance, I though the course still worth it.

Thank you for your awesome course .That was as good as previous courses . just , at the end of week 6 there were some links to building portfolio website , but they didn't conduct us to the right page , It seems that these topics removed frome the course 1. By the way I think if you ask about the website address ,there should be some guides.

I really loved this course and all the previous ones. The instructors are very clear, the additional bibliography is very useful, I read it all! Can't wait to start course 6.

I recommend the Google UX Design as a starting point. However I think that learning Figma before starting it allowed me to do a better design during these 5 courses.

This was one tough course! Took me so long to complete but I'm so happy that I'm finally done. I enjoyed iterating on my design and making it look like a complete product. When I was putting my case study together I realized just how much work that was, but it was so satisfying to see everything come together.

If you take this course seriously, it should not be a breeze. I have grown so much since enrolling in this program and this course tied the first project up perfectly! I paused my progress a bit to do more advanced readings and tutorials in Figma and it was definitely worth it in the end. Awesome job Google!
