About the Course

This is the fifth course in the Google Data Analytics Certificate. In this course, you’ll explore what it means to actually analyze your data. You’ll take what you’ve learned up to this point and apply it to make sense of the data you’ve collected. You’ll learn how to organize and format your data using spreadsheets and SQL to help you look at and think about your data in different ways. You’ll also find out how to perform complex calculations with your data to address business objectives. You’ll learn how to use formulas, functions, and SQL queries as you conduct your analysis. Current Google data analysts will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on ways to accomplish common data analyst tasks with the best tools and resources. Learners who complete this certificate program will be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as data analysts. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, learners will: - Learn how to organize data for analysis. - Understand the processes for formatting and adjusting data. - Explore how to aggregate data in spreadsheets and by using SQL. - Use formulas and functions in spreadsheets to make data calculations. - Learn how to complete calculations using SQL queries....

Very good and useful practice of SQL. The JOIN party is pretty hardcore so I definitely couldn't master it but got enough of an understanding where I could learn quickly with some on the job training.

An excellent course for learning analysis techniques using Spreadsheets and SQL. Recommended for all engineering and data science students as well as for those managing businesses and human resource.

First of all I want to emphasize the fact that I am not a hater, troll or anything like that. In terms of Data Analysis, this course is NOT CURRENT -Most of the actions in spreadsheet are out of date since the software update, NOT CORRECT -The files have errors that don't permit them to be loaded in SQL, -The information and steps provided are not correct -There is no comment and description about the actions/shortcuts performed(I guess debutants are supposed to know that then), -We need to spend as much time learning than correcting the files for them to actually work properly NOT ORGANIZED -We jump from writing simple queries in the previous course(s) to writing long and advanced queries with no prior mention of their effects, -We go from proctors explaining SLOWLY and PROGRESSIVELY line by line of each query to writing 10+ lines queries without precise explanation, -We have incredibly long readings documents without any prior video explanation or EXEMPLES of what they are use for, -We jump from readings to hands on practice without any surrounding context, -No glossary for the first 2 modules -The content of modules is ridiculously disparate (Module 4 have 5 chapters!!!!! and all very technical) -The increase in complexity is not well balanced and not well explained -Was there some type of competition with the proctor for her to talk as fast as possible while explaining(and there was very little explanation)It's ridiculously comical. The lack of organization makes this course painfully difficult to follow. This course is completely at the opposite of the previous courses which I genuinely loved all the activities and how they are organized, from the short explanation videos, readings, hands on practice and exercises, they were SMOOTH and STRAIGHTFORWARD. This course, which seems like one of the main important, is very disappointing and should be updated and reorganized. I personally gave up on following the steps-by-steps activities in this course because of spending so much time looking for the correct file, trying to figure out how to correct it etc. PS: why do we have to download a different file for each single activity? Can't we download one file per module and work on the same file instead of having so many file??? Thank god I have a strong background in coding languages and Python because if I was really a debutant, I would have struggled badly.

This is genuinely the most confusing lesson I could imagine with almost no explanation from the course instructor. I am specifically referring to the sections on aggregate functions and subqueries (week 3), though this entire sections has been rough and confusing.

This is very complicated coding for a beginner (this course's target demographic) and it is breezed by with nowhere near enough explanation as to what these queries accomplish, how and when to use them, and how to format these queries. I took a different SQL coding course before this course and this lesson has confused queries and concepts that I had decent comprehension of before taking this lesson.

On top of all of that, BigQuery uses different dialect and formatting than any of the other SQL programs and servers that I have used. It also is very buggy and doesn't operate as indicated by the weekly lessons. Oftentimes the weekly assignments' instructions are outdated and need addendums to each step of the instructions, further confusing the concepts.

The instructor seems to be out of pace, especially at week 4.

Especially when it comes to SQL, at the earlier weeks, she adds too many things that weren't mensioned before which caused me confusion and lead me to look up every previous material in the course which resulted in me wasting my time.

It was good for me, cause i looked everything up on my own. But it wasn't good for the course experience i.e having to put into account that the instructor might introduce things unexplained and are also complex.

I might sound like being irrational and over inflating things but compared to the "prepare" and "process" courses in this series, this one is a big leap backwards when it comes to the instructor and the way things ,that are to be given to the student, are ordered.

The lecturer was quick, not thorough with her explanations, and generally, felt like she just wanted to rush through the topic. The examples she used in her explanations a majority of the time did not work, which I then had to look at the discussion forum to find solutions for. Overall, I found the other courses to be done quiet well, It was concise, explanations were thorough and the examples were spot on, however, with this course, I was very disappointed. I had to do most of my own research for the topics so I could learn on my own. The lecturer did not help.

So far, this was by far the worst course in this specialisation program, it's incoherent, most of the info is already covered in the preceding courses, the order of lections within the course doesn't make sense (functionalities are used before explanation), every example/exercise used a new data set (for no apparent reason) and many of the quiz questions ultimately relied on semantics. I thoroughly did not enjoy this course and considered dropping the entire specialisation program because of this.

Instructor very fast and she doesn't give detailed explanations to what she is solving which really demotivate me and when I checked many also say same thing on our discussion area and there is no actual responses from your side all they say (thank you for your feedback) is that all so actually we didn't feel any steps taken maybe your company actually is taking steps in this regards but we will never know if nobody tell us which in return actually give us not good image of coursera

did not care for the instructor at all. most of it was probably tied to the fact that several times incorrect codes were given and it would take multiple hours to figure out what actually needed to be put down. Made several complaints about this in reports and never heard back. Even found a group of people who were searching out the answers in stackoverflow and found some. there were entire missing lines in the SQL code. please review your Bigquery codes for this unit.

Terrible. The instructor does this way too fast and provides the most excruciatingly confusing examples. I tried accessing public datasets from bigquery and it kept saying "url not found". So i tried contacting Google Cloud support, which was literally impossible. I actually think I would have somehow learned more if I had not taken this course at all. This made me want to completely stop trying with the professional certificate and now I honestly want a refund.

No STAR at all.

Coursera.org and Google are great, but this course seriously needed to be revisited and all the videos and content to be reviewed and synchronized.

the teacher is very professional and knows her subject BUT she is not a teacher by all means.

please replace the teacher and revise the course with the latest CLAUSE please.

I am grateful to GOOGLE and COURSERA.ORG for providing me with great professional skills.

I'm only rating this way because I can't rate the entire Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. I just wasted 6 months on this course with the promise I could get a job in data analysis. Well, I can crush data analysis! But my lack of background in math is proving to make me unhirable. I wish I'd known this before wasting time and money on this program. Now I'm 6 months behind training for another career.

this course is so repetitive compared to the prior courses. I expected this course to teach us how to analyze data when looking at a dataset, It turns out just showing some sorting that are similar to "process course". I would not recommend anyone to study this, a complete waste of time and money! I guess the instructor did not watch the prior content from the process course.

By a longshot, this course has been the most poorly executed in the Data Analytics curriculum. The teaching versus the exercises were nonsensical. For anyone new to data analytics, SQL or spreadsheets, prepare to be amazingly confused. The sheer number of corrections in each video should have given the QA team for this video, pause. This section needs a complete overhaul.

The content of this course was neither explained very thoroughly nor presented in a way that was easy to understand. I found myself looking for a lot of other resources to learn some of the topics, especially SQL subqueries. Upon requesting for assistance through discussion forums, I discovered that many of my peers also taking the course were equally frustrated.

I learned a lot from this course but it was a nightmare. The instructor moved extremely fast through the important parts of the code writing and examples. I had to pause each video countless times and rewind just so I could figure out what she was doing. Also, not enough explanation of what she was doing in each step. All the other courses were at a great pace.

this part was the most important one ,i think it is the difference between the theoretical and the practical, between what you arrange in secret and what will appear in public. I think it did not receive enough explanation and practical examples. I think it would have been better to divide it into 3 parts between different lecturers.

Its the least useable course so far. It has lots of repeated contents which have alreay disscussed in the privious courses. And the analysis techniques covered are short and weak. I can't beleive those are the only analysis techniques that are worth to discuss for a junior DA.
