About the Course

This is the fourth course in the Google Project Management Certificate program. This course will delve into the execution and closing phases of the project life cycle. You will learn what aspects of a project to track and how to track them. You will also learn how to effectively manage and communicate changes, dependencies, and risks. As you explore quality management, you will learn how to measure customer satisfaction and implement continuous improvement and process improvement techniques. Next, you will examine how to prioritize data, how to use data to inform your decision-making, and how to effectively present that data. Then, you will strengthen your leadership skills as you study the stages of team development and how to manage team dynamics. After that, you will discover tools that provide effective project team communication, how to organize and facilitate meetings, and how to effectively communicate project status updates. Finally, you will examine the steps of the project closing process and how to create and share project closing documentation. Current Google project managers will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on approaches for accomplishing these tasks while showing you the best project management tools and resources for the job at hand. Learners who complete this program should be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as project managers. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Identify what aspects of a project to track and compare different tracking methods. - Discuss how to effectively manage and communicate changes, dependencies, and risks. - Explain the key quality management concepts of quality standards, quality planning, quality assurance, and quality control. - Describe how to create continuous improvement and process improvement and how to measure customer satisfaction. - Explain the purpose of a retrospective and describe how to conduct one. - Demonstrate how to prioritize and analyze data and how to communicate a project’s data-informed story. - Identify tools that provide effective project team communication and explore best practices for communicating project status updates. - Describe the steps of the closing process for stakeholders, the project team, and project managers....

My rating is more like 3.5 stars, and my concerns are (also) around the peer review portion of this course. I personally "reviewed" several submissions that were clearly plagarized, and in one instance they were given to me back-to-back. Since these same people are responsible for reviewing my work, I am left not entirely sure if I am understanding the course material or just the recipient of a passing grade from someone who is trying to cut as many corners as possible to get to their certificate.

As a whole, I walked away from the course feeling relatively confident that I understood the material presented but if someone asked me whether or not they should take this course, it would come with several caveats.

Around the third course in this certification, some of the interface changed for the negative. In prior courses, if I saved notes from a video transcript, they would show on the right side of the screen for easy viewing. Also, I could copy-paste the readings into Word so I could print them out. Suddenly, starting in course 3-4, they would paste over with 4 different fonts and terrible formatting, so I'd have to spend time reformatting them before printing.

Actual rating is 3.5 stars.

The Course 4 was quite long, but that's not a problem.

The main issue was that it provided a mix of hints, rather than a learning program. It didn't tell a story, despite the speaker was encouraging us to do this in our presentations.

The hints themselves ranged from extremely useful to completely abstract and non-working.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it much more than Course 2 which was disasterous, in my opinion.

This course focuses on effective communication. However, the course itself is not effectively communicated. Most of the course topics could be covered in shorter and less number of videos. It felt like they did not have enough topics to create a full course so they tried prolonging the course with repetition and unnecessary information. The previous courses in the specialization were much better.

There were some instances where the quality of the content could be improved (usually outsider perspectives from guest video lecturers) and other times where the breadth of the content could be expanded for comprehension. I tend to side with other enrollees who have said that, while the course is informative, it seems disjointed instead of holistic.

While I agree that concepts such as how to write an email, how to put together a presentation, or how to create a meeting agenda are useful for an entry-level PM, for someone who's been around for some time this is basic stuff and feels like a glorious waste of time. Some of the modules in this course should be optional.

This course is so unnecessarily long-winded, there are too many sections about soft skills, such as giving effective presentations and how to work in a team, that could be covered in a single week and are things that people should already know, especially if they are considering working in this field.

Corse reported as complete way before i finished it. I have not done last assignment yet, but it is already marked as complete for me. The Presentation that was referred in the last assignment is nowhere to be found in the previous steps assignment.

I feel some of the topics should be broken down extra. In module 6, I felt there should have been more paragraphs on the transcript some of it looked clustered to me but overall it's was an amazing study, I am grateful for what I have learnt.

Fantastic course, but some of the questions of the tests could be improved as they sometimes ask things that were not taughtin the lectures. Not even after going back to the suggested source I can find the ifnormation needed to answer.

I feel that having a "How to build a project management resume" would have helped me a lot. I just finished the Digital Marketing Course and they had a whole section about resume tips and building.

The course was a bit too long, and from time to time not engaging enough. Some lessons seemed to have quite intuitive and obvious contents. But the structure of the course was good in general.

Course could be slimmed down quite a bit. A lot of the information does not really require videos, which would allow it to be a four week course, rather than a six week course

While I felt this is literally the most critical course in the certificate, it's also fairly weighty. I think that splitting this course into two might be a better approach.

the information was presented in a very all over the place and out of order way, and the main presenter's style was really annoying and hard to connect with

This module has good content but it is not well organized. There is too much jumping around between topics making consolidation of information necessary.

Really AB level. A lot of repetition of concepts. Would have been cool if the instructor would have brought more real life cases from google.

This one took way longer than the others. I wonder if it could be condensed a bit more. It is way longer than all the others.

Was unnecessarily long with too much story telling included instead of getting to and discussing the main points.

I do not like the knowledge checks during the videos. It prevented me from listening in my car.
