I have taken a dozen courses online. This is the most challenging and fulfilling course I have taken so far. And I believe that the course shall be beneficial to all people in different walks of life.

Exploring through the lectures and materials takes one to another level where one builds confident what to pick and what to release thereby making misery filled life to a a life full of joy. This is the course one should take it, Next thing on listening to the video lectures it makes one to continue remaining as such doesn't feel like separation. I have read several articles about this course and its benefits. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it during the pandemic. I found the combination of empirical research, perspectives of experts and the reinforcement of weekly course work to be an effective way for reinforcing intentional healthful practices. I would recommend this course for anyone seeking to increase their self-care, regardless of age and life circumstances.

I enjoyed doing this course. Week after week the professor would come up with scientifically backed ideas of happiness that go against common sense notions of happiness. The course pushed me to re-evaluate why I want something and what should i want instead in order to be happy. Do i want something because everyone has it or should I dig deeper to find a personal meaning in the things i do or acquire? Important question for everyone IMO.

After completing the course in a happy manner I felt that Professor Laurie Santos had really opened a Happiness Lab. I never enjoyed my past happy moments before this course. I am a bit shy to talk with strangers but after practicing that in this course my shyness has gone and I am talking very freely with all the people. I am very happy to build social connections with neighbors and unknown peoples. I learned a lot through this course.

Great course! Pinpoints to the true facets of happiness by emphasizing on experiences rather than on things. The rewirement exercises are super helpful. Research oriented guide to happiness as each module is presented with the results of experiments conducted. WooP - wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan is the way to make changes in the current behavior. Thank you Yale for offering this course. This my 170th MooC and the best one so far !

I think a course as such as this one is very important especially for students who needs to have to a healthy mental state to learn. How does this course help to do that you make ask, this course made me aware of the thought i was having about my academics and how it was affecting my mental state. Now I am totally aware of the things which need to be done to be happy which are in contrary to what I thought before taking up this course.

I found this course engaging and I never felt that the content was too laborious or long-winded. Each week there are several "quizzes" which makes it "entertaining". I enjoyed reflecting on ideas I had learnt and felt challenged enough without being overwhelmed! The optional extra material is a good help to accommodate people who want to get deeper into the topic! Dr. Santos is a very good, likeable and funny teacher. Highly recommend.

Really, I feel proud of having decided to take this course, I feel much more calm, relaxed and committed with myself, it helped me to see everything around me in a more positive way, it gave me tools that helped me practice and improve my professional and very motivated family environment, letting things flow finding solutions to different situations in a practical and acceptable way.

I found this course to be vey insightful and it also made me understand why I thought I wasn’t happy when it was really miswanting the right things. I have learnt from this course strategies to increase my happiness and that with hard work it will become easier for these strategies to become a more regular technique used in my day to day life. I would recommend this course to anyone who is wanting to have more positivity in their life.

Its a must to do course for those who want to change the way they live their lives. This course gives great insight about human nature and how we can improve the quality of our daily living experience by just making simple changes in the way we think. The evidence of the change can be noted objectively by comparing the pre and post course happiness scores; which in itself is a great motivation to continue with the newly learnt habits.

An ideal course during a pandemic. I have been wanting to take some courses on well-being and wellness for awhile. I am HAPPY to have discovered Coursera and this class with Dr. Laurie Santos. She is engaging, encouraging and authentic which makes the learning much more enjoyable. I learned some great tools and I'm inspired by the research and the science behind each practice which lead to happiness. It's what the world needs now!

I truly enjoyed this course because it helped put things into perspective and gave explanations and awareness to why happiness can be elusive. It was very thought provoking and informative. After taking the course, I feel like I have tools to help me stay on track to making every day count and to remember to savor the moments, connect with people I care about, exercise my body, calm my mind, and feed my soul. I enjoyed this course very much so and Professor Laurie Santos is great to come up with her assistants, practice, and lectures-videos are easy to understand. I am just grateful the fact I found out about this course and able to take out general information and mainly I gained the Meditation skill over the course which improves me daily, not wonder my mind. I have a much better focus and happiness now.

I think the part that made learning about this topic more interesting was choosing and building good habits as a way to ensure you have good well-being, the older you get. We got to choose between exercise, sleep, meditation, deep breathing, gratitude letter, and more. We also got to review what the experience was like at the end and if our scores for happiness increased or decreased as a result of the activity or activities chosen.

In the first place I want to say thank you for this course. It's life changing. I found this course to be a difficult time in my life. I didn't see meaning in my life, was very frustrated and lost. My psychologist diagnosed depression. This course was something that filled in the blanks in my soul. When I saw that in the last three weeks we should have practiced rewirements, I said to myself that this is the time for my challenge.

Loved this course. It builds in time to practice strategies and helps you build a repertoire of strategies that can be used in isolation or in tandem to help cope with the everyday stresses as well as major life-altering events. Loved it from beginning to end and am still reaping the benefits as well as keeping up with the Podcast and the facebook page. I truly am happier for having taken this course - everyone should take it! :D

This course changed my view of what happiness is. I am coming away with so many tools to implement into my daily routine. This course couldn't have come at a better time. Learning positive psychology during such a wild worldwide event surrounded by a negative news cycle has been the lifeline I didn't know I needed. I'll be taking these tools forward with me until the end of time and am so grateful that I will be able to revisit the material to keep it fresh. I loved the course, and your podcast too, " The Happiness Lab" and "The Science of Well-Being" have changed my life and how i relate to experience in a more constructive way. Excellent; 2 main benefits, for me:
1) Even if many of the learnings were intuitive, adding scientific rigor adds a valuable additional perspective that basic things are really good for our health!
2) You can never be reminded enough of these healthy habits. Even if you already know it all, I find myself in an improved mood just going through the course -- it has an impact on how likely I am to hold myself to these habits.
