About the Course

This is the third course in the Google Data Analytics Certificate. As you continue to build on your understanding of the topics from the first two courses, you’ll be introduced to new topics that will help you gain practical data analytics skills. You’ll learn how to use tools like spreadsheets and SQL to extract and make use of the right data for your objectives, and how to organize and protect your data. Current Google data analysts will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on ways to accomplish common data analyst tasks with the best tools and resources. Learners who complete this certificate program will be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as data analysts. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, learners will: - Find out how analysts decide what data to collect for analysis. - Learn about structured and unstructured data, data types, and data formats. - Discover how to identify different types of bias in data to help ensure data credibility. - Explore how analysts use spreadsheets and SQL within databases and data sets. - Examine open data and the relationship between, and importance of, data ethics and data privacy. - Gain an understanding of how to access databases and extract, filter, and sort the data they contain. - Learn best practices for organizing data and keeping it secure....

The lessons were easy to follow through and the explanantions were easy to understand. The hands-on practices also helped improve hands-on skills with the data analysis tools introduced in this course

from my point of view:

First note:

Please add some translations to the video clips to facilitate studying and spread the course among many countries.

Second note:

Also with regard to video clips; We ask to improve the color of the font, because the caliph is white and the font used in writing is blue, which makes the contrast low and strains the eyes.

I liked the course it was informative and going into the depth of the topic of the data and the analysis work, my only comment and I believe it goes on all the courses i would like to have one example and from the beginning to the end and build on it each time we have a new information or aspect. that would be more helpful, I guess. Thanks.

I loved the course and materials provided. However, I feel like a lot of sections were repetitive and instead could have been devoted to showing a bit more about spreadsheeting, SQL/queries, and command structures instead. Overall, I believe that the course was well constructed, especially with showing how to network with other individuals!

Overall great course! Within the SQL there are some steps that need to be updated for the hands-on activity, as many of the datasets within BigQuery have slight different naming conventions. So when I was searching for the public datasets I had to use different keywords, than indicated in the instructions to locate the correct set.

Course is very precise, nicely explained, covering all the topics from scratch. The best thing I like about this course is the videos are very short and crisp. They don't bore you with long 1-2 hour videos. They have a combination of videos, readings, assignments, practice quiz etc. which makes the course very interesting to learn.

I appreciate the course has good content of information to learn and develop.

I would like to inform that, spreadsheet security & protection is not explained completely in this course. If these examples are added the course will be more helpful for beginners.

Thanks for the support to make process daily with this good information.

Big Query, has several changes that makes it very hard to do the hands on activities. Eventhough it is not necessary to pass the challenges, I would have liked to have done all of them. It was impossible to upload the table or do some other things. I guess i would need later one more training for even the most basic queries.

This one was mentally draining and requires a ton of focus and should be updated soon. Since it wasn't fully updated it forced me to make sure I really understood what I was doing and forced me to get comfortable using BigQuery and writing Syntaxs. It all worked out for the better but, ended up taking longer than expected.

I really like this course. It is well explained and has a logical sequence. My only objection is the part Kaggle was introduced. I felt lost and ... still I am. I know what is it for but not sure how to work with it. Maybe to suggest some projects to work with it like in the BigQuery section would be helpful Thanks.

Really good, just a few problems in week 3 when we try to learn SQL, because the examples were not available any more, but later following the instruction we could get the path again.

In general this course Prepare data for exploration was very interesting, I really enjoy it. Thanks Google and Coursera.

Great course for beginners and who are confused who to get started and what are the right things to think about while analyzing your data. This course takes a tour of querying data, ethics and security principles that an analyst should follow topped with many analytics community networking tips!

This course is generaly helpful, however, I found some sessions are harder than others and requires more time to that particular session. It would be more ideal if the materials (i.e. technical and non-tachnical materials) to be spreaded out more evenly throughout the entire course. Thank you.

I think there was a missed opportunity to give a real task using kaggle. This course was a lot of good information, but there was a lack of real assignments and tasks. Also, the lab didn't load for me after multiple tries. The section about bias was the best, and it was covered well.

The course has a good flow combination from video to notes, from notes to videos, it has everything needed to really help even those who haven't taken an online course ever in their life, this is definitely the best foundation course for any person passionate about data analytics.

Excellent Course but there is something needs to be considered that is timing for each activity. I found some activities need more time but there is short time allocated and some of them were as easy as 1-2-3 but time allocation was too much. Rest is all fine rather fantastic.

When I saw that one needs no experience at all to learn this, I was not convinced! However, with the detailed explanation, it seems that a novice can actually learn it. I've skipped much of the videos due to my work experiences but the videos are definitely detailed.

The course assignments have questions whose corresponding data is not available in bigquery cloud . The tests have questions from there and the data does not givve the result given in the questions. So I feel the questions and answers should be inline with the data

I think some of the SQL practices should have been made clearer. BigQuery should be taught step by step on how to use and navigate it. SQL queries taught should be explained on what they do and what other ways we could write them and why they can work or not work.

I enjoyed the course very much, great instructor. I didn't enjoy what I can call "the political part" of this course. Overall I learned lots of new things about SQL, other than that almost all of the course content was pretty basic, and a lot of data politics.

The course on BigQuery was not very accurate. Even though the site is frequently updated. Following the instruction in the video and getting an error message can be confusing. You don't know if you're making the mistake or if the instructions are not accurate.

This course was very well done! My only complaint was the mismatching between my screen on BigQuery and the videos. I know the website was updated, but it was tough tracking at times! I also would have love more on the excel/ sheets side of data preperation.

Some things could have been better like doing something that keeps the interest rather than making it boring by forcefully dragging the same thing over and over again, clarifying some of the questions and the wrong answers in the quizzes to avoid confusions.
