About the Course

What are people most afraid of? What do our dreams mean? Are we natural-born racists? What makes us happy? What are the causes and cures of mental illness? This course tries to answer these questions and many others, providing a comprehensive overview of the scientific study of thought and behavior. It explores topics such as perception, communication, learning, memory, decision-making, persuasion, emotions, and social behavior. We will look at how these aspects of the mind develop in children, how they differ across people, how they are wired-up in the brain, and how they break down due to illness and injury....

This course was really very interesting and the way by which lectures was delivered it too awesome.

It was easy to understand and feel connectivity to the Professor.

Thank you Sir and Coursera.

This course offered me a lot to think about what we are as Human Beings and I'm glad that I took this course and Prof. Paul Bloom is excellent in this course and I find this course thought provoking.

Although touching on several interesting topics and tought by the very nice and knowledgable Professor Bloom, in my opinion the course lacked depth. Although this is not true for every lecture in this course, overall I would rather recommand the Introductory course on Psychology by Steve Joordans which goes more into detail in mostly similar topics. For someone who wants to get to know the scope of Psychology this course may nevertheless also be great. :)

I already did this course offered by a better university as an Undergraduate course. But to get a certificate I enrolled into this course. The course is good. I am a high schooler and I could complete this course within 14 hours but the certificate I received is WORTHLESS. It says "online non-Credit course" right on the certificate which is not mentioned in the course description. If Yale has to collect more fees to give credits then charge more through Coursera website. but DON"T waste our time.

Instead of teaching me psychology, they keep trying to explain to me that God doesn't exist. It is not a course on psychology but on atheism.

Coursera won't allow me to un-enroll some of the courses, including this one, I enrolled by mistake. The one-star is for Coursera.
