About the Course

In this final, capstone course of the Google Project Management Certificate, you will practice applying the project management knowledge and skills you have learned so far. We encourage learners to complete Courses 1-5 before beginning the final course, as they provide the foundation necessary to complete the activities in this course. As you progress through this course, you will “observe” a project manager in a real-world scenario and complete dozens of hands-on activities. You will: - analyze project documents to identify project requirements and evaluate stakeholders - complete a project charter and use it as a tool to align project scope and goals among stakeholders - identify tasks and milestones and document and prioritize them in a project plan - define quality management standards and explore how to effectively share qualitative data - demonstrate your project’s impact through effective reporting By the end of this course, you will have developed a portfolio of project management artifacts that will demonstrate the skills you have learned throughout the entire program, such as your ability to manage stakeholders and teams, organize plans, and communicate project details. These artifacts can exhibit your career readiness when applying for jobs in the field. To further prepare you to interview for project management jobs, you will reflect on past projects, develop an “elevator pitch,” and anticipate common interview questions. Current Google project managers will continue to instruct and provide you with the strategies, tools, and resources to meet your goals. After completing this program, you should be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as a project manager. You will also have the opportunity to claim a certification of completion badge that will be recognizable to employers....

This course is fantastic! Though I am a skilled project manager; there are some good takeaways from this course; and Google Instructors talk about the best practices used at Google in a lucid manner!

This course was good, but the greatest struggle I had with all of these courses were the peer graded assignments. I appreciate that items were actually graded by a real person, but quite a few people were not able to grade on a basic level. They would grade 0s, rather than flag the submission if they could not access the document (most of the time, the assignment was there, they were just looking for an attachment rather than a link). I needed to resubmit a few assignments without making any changes, simply because a peer grader could not find my initial submission. If one grader is giving all points, but a second grader gives no points, an improvement might be that the submission gets flagged for a moderator, or automatically go to a third peer grader so that items will get graded quicker...just a suggestion.

Otherwise, I think the presenters, content, and worksheets were all very well made. I saved all of the documents, and look forward to potentially using them as things come up in work, or if I ever have a future career in Project Management.

This course was very informative and gave a well-rounded view of entry-level project management skills and education. The instructors were great and relayed information in an easy-to-understand format and it was helpful to be able to look at resources for each course whenever it was necessary. I do wish they would have spent more time on how to make project documents, presentations, and other aspects accessible and inclusive. I feel that there was not enough time spent on that when there are laws to follow to ensure inclusivity in the workplace. Also, the note feature is not the easiest to use and the video would often skip back to the part I was trying to save the notes at instead of continuing on while I was taking notes. I would definitely recommend this course to others as it helped to give me a good foundation in project management.

The curriculum was the right level of detail (for me, anyway) and the pedagogy was excellent. The entire 6-course series was very well-crafted. I especially appreciated the inclusive and non-judgmental discussions of how to manage people's differing learning and communication styles. I also appreciated that way that respect was modeled in the ways the material was presented. This was my first experience with MOOC and it took some getting used to the idea of peer-review assignments; people tend to grade based on their personal interpretation of the brief. I do obviously understand the necessity of peer-review over instructor grading, so having said that I think it was as well-handled as possible. I would definitely recommend this course to others who are seeking knowledge of project management.

It was a good course.

can be made more elaborative in few sections as time is just user preference. Everything was pointed out nicely.

I have paid attention from starting to the final wrap up, going through every notes and assignment.

The test can be made more difficult as all the answers are from the notes only, still good as few were not easy that look.

I am confidence now to jump to this field as a beginner, due to the experience from the course and the assignment task etc. I feel the theory of the 1st layer is done, now I can peel the rest one by one and explore the unknown.

Thank You to every tutor for taking their time out, I know it was just once still.

Thank You Coursera for this course platform and Google for such initiative.

Thank You

Namaste

I already have a project management background working in the construction industry, but i gained useful information from this course.

of course there still some problems in this course like the constant repetitiveness, the slow assignment rating system, problems in the coursera's mobile app i used in my tablet and the length of the course that makes you tired.

Overall i recommend this course. My advice in some sections is to skip some videos if you want to complete faster the certificate. The information provided from the reading and quiz parts is more than enough. Cheers!

Overall, Google has done itself proud with this course! Both content and format are excellent. With the exception of the capstone project, Module 6, the course was well worth taking. The capstone project could be immeasurably improved by having Google PMs evaluate the mandartory exercises. When grading other students, on more than one occassion, I found content that was either 'cut and paste' material or totally irrelevant. Likewise the student grading was quite obviously perfunctory. So, for that aspect of the Capstone module I'd give Google one star.

I highly recommend this course; it's a very long course that takes six months, but it is worth taking it. It helps you dig into the project management details and learn too much information quickly, including videos, articles, and quizzes to help you move forward.

In addition, this course lets you gain experience in how project managers can handle a lot of responsibility and work with the team to make any project successful. It allows you to gain new skills to be a good manager, like communications, documentation, and Leadership skills.

Case studies are too easy and not reflective of the real world. Assignments being marked my other students who just wants to get their 3 reviews done is not a good way to be accurately assessed.

I feel the course has sacrificed too much in terms of depth and challenge to achieve good UX. Its one thing to make the students feel good but if it ultimately doesn't challenge them, they won't grow.

Good introduction in to the world and lingo of PM but course is too easy.

Very practical and with very interesting business and project scenarios.. But sometimes many of the information is very confuse and a lot of missing data that even supposing scenario, is not common consider scenario conditions or maybe the case explanation have information but are very confuse. Fortunately handle same project for this course. Maybe most convenient is to use same 2 projects for all the courses ,like handling multiple projects while studying course

The Capstone was still great for learning but I felt like it was less engaging than the other courses. I think that if there were video recordings of mock meetings regarding the project it would be way more engaging and realistic. As it was, I found myself scanning through things quickly to search for the answers whereas in a real world setting you'd likely need to be disecting complex information from conversations and distilling it into written reports.
