This is where things got a bit more complex. From the very first video I felt like I cannot speed up the videos anymore, and I have to pay closer attention. But after I got into it, it got easier and easier. The instructor is very genuine and charismatic. Despite the increased complexity however, after you get a hold of SQL, it feels a bit basic.

After using one or two functions all the rest follow the same pattern. I would have enjoyed more direct practice of SQL. Maybe a dataset that we could practice on with tons of simple function excersises. After finishing this course I feel like I am more than half-way done, considering that the last course is a project, and the penultimate one is focused on programming.

I feel that learning what the error codes mean has been so useful to me in any programming language in order to identify why the code is not working. If the issue is not solved after some attempts, Stack Overflow, GitHub or similar webpages may show the solution to your problems, or at least give you some ideas of how to try to solve them. It's also very important to keep calm and pay attention to all details, because a simple comma can be the cause of all your problems (like in the SELECT argument when you want to use more than one column and you miss the comma between them). Practice and have fun!

I would have liked more explanation of how not to screw up the database. The BigQuery version that I had did not allow UPDATE etc. What is the danger of that. Also, when or should you ever use DELETE. Perhaps this will be covered in coming modules but how can I know? I am a programmer and need to know if I am destroying something.

I also feel that database creation using Microsoft Access would have been very instructive. It would provide the visualization needed to make the SQL teachings more complete. Also, one can practice with Access as they use another type of SQL, mySQL?.

Content-wise there are 1 or 2 issues which hardly matters because of the over-all quality of the teaching and guidance, this was a bit of a 'hard' course and i believe i had few hiccups over few topics and there is definite need to improve the sampling size calculator, i have found it hard to understand the confidence level, confidence interval & margin of error, although i can understand the basic concept i needed to understand the difference between margin of error high and low percentages & so on, little confused.

I Wholeheartedly Thank All The Tutors.

I like data cleaning, I feel was able to get into the data analyst roll. I learned a lot new skills and functions which will be useful for the future. I Didn't like the fact that I encountered few obstacles. For example, in the hang on activities and on a quiz. The LENGHT function was not recognized by the exercise even though the query was well perform. I also found trouble in SQL as well. I would say the biggest problem is when you get stuck in a exercise sometimes the forums no solution. Basically there is no one available to ask for assistance.

Clean data is essential for flawless data analysis. So, cleaning a dataset before analysis is one of the most important considerations. This course is designed to give basic idea of cleaning process. It has vague information about SQL data cleaning process and some terminologies. If anyone who is new at SQL will get some hard time dealing with it. It is understandable that there are some limitations to improve the content of SQL in this course. But it could be better. The instructor was great. Her method to interact was amiable.

This was a good course, and I learned a lot. The instructor was great and definitely someone I enjoyed learning from. I really wish there would have been more useable examples for practice with SQL functions. Also, each time we used BigQuery I was very lost. The examples and instructions do not match the current BigQuery platform. Each time there were instructions of how to use BigQuery the instructions were not correct. It made it very frustrating which made it hard for me to focus on the functions and learn them very well.

In the weeks for SQL teaching, I would prefer hat the time use to explain this topic were more focus on general SQL Knowledge like why are the syntax just like they are. for example why we start with select? I have a little understanding of SQL but I compare this course with the one I did in W3 and the last one is better structured. They start from the most basic. Of course this is a good learning course but to be Google I feel there are some improvements to consider with SQL lessons.

Sally Did an excellent job. For me, she is essentially the only instructor whose speech has been very clear Yet. I totlally enjoyed her jovial nature too as it kept me engaged when I was almost losing interest.

It got a bit overwhelming at some point but it was expected. Now that I am done, I am happy to have learned quite some useful tips to help me on my Data Analytics Journey. More skills to my toolkit and also for my career advancements. Onto the next one!

It is an essential part of the program, where you are diving into real problems with real solutions.

You receive lot of tips about how to work with SQL and EXCEL.

Additionally, you are introduced to new communities, like Kaggle, plenty of options to increase your knowledge out of the formal program.

It helps you to create your own Curriculum Vitae and to point out those key elements important to achieve a position as junior analyst.

The videos are very good, clear and easy to understand I think would be more challenging, improve the course interaction and quality, if some of the tests contain questions depending of data cleaning with simple exercises. For example, SUM all row X and insert the results, instead multiple choices or how many misspelled names you have in customer_name etc P.S: I would like to leave 4.5 stars not 4 but is not possible =)

I am so grateful to the instructor of this course, who made all the hard parts easier and understandable. What I would like to point out is that I was not able to follow along with some practices since the instructions were unclear. I was also experiencing technical issues with the lab and dealing with BigQuery. Additionally, I was able to find some materials and exercises on the other platform to practice more.

Quite useful and described the mechanics of cleaning data in detail, although more depth and examples would be useful, especially in SQL. Would also be nice to talk about survey designs or data collection that can minimize the effort in cleaning data (such as limiting codes to 5 spaces). Overall a nice course and hope that it can further expand a bit with more examples and useful commands/formulas

This was a nice overview and I particularly enjoyed the hands on activities with SQL, but there were a few grading errors in quizzes between versions and I would have liked to understand more about the more advanced cleaning tools -- like how to deal with a column of data that has varying string data in it as in the Bay Area Coffee Shop example. Knowing how to handle column B would have been great!

At first I had some reservations, but I ended up liking this part of the programme. It'd definitely benefit (or learners would benefit) from more hands-on practice and harder assignments, but overall I feel that I've learnt a lot (I'm a true beginner). The optional career building section was insightful enough, I will definitely use the tips in my future job search.

I loved the content and I am proud of the work i have done so far. Only thing i would like to be improved on this particular course 4 was that the SQL queries could have been taught for a bit longer and could have broken in to more sub lessons for building a strong foundation. I am going to work on SQL from some other sources as I know this might not be enough.

The issues covered in this course are important for the preparation of the data to be analyzed. The guidelines for assessing the sufficiency and quality of the data and the tools for data cleaning have been useful. The didactics for the application of some SQL functions is still weak, I'm not sure if I could apply the examples presented to other situations!

The instructor for Section 4 has been the best by far. She is great at explaining the material, understanding, and she genuinely seems honest. The last course challenge did not have any programming questions, which is not the best idea. As majority of the section focused on SQL, not a single question on the final course challenge.

This course was very well developed and the addition of hands-on exercises was quite helpful to learn and practice SQL and spreadsheets. However, it could be made better if the course developer allows the students to have access to BiqQuery for a time being so that they are not limited to few functions that are allowed in sandbox

A lot of information here, but very approachable, even for a beginner. I think the supplemental section related to resume-building and job prep is nice too, especially to refer back to later. Generally speaking, this was put together well, though I would have liked more optional practice exercises with the SQL concepts.

Everything was perfectly explain by the instructor except that the practical aspect needed more examples and explanation for especially people changing career path. But all the same, the instructor was vintage and her mere presence radiated expecially her smile and disposition. Was a great experience by all standards.

Case example on cleaning data wasnt good enough for me. They assume we already know where the errors are, but how to clean data when we dont know the error yet?

example :

"assume you know there is a duplicate on customer id"

but how if I dont know that there is a duplicate on customer id? how can I find it by myself ?

This is a pretty extensive course. I am already familiar with Excel, but I found that section particularly useful. I like the way the SQL QwikLabs are organized with the repetition of commands. Unfortunately, not all of the commands work (UPDATE and DELETE). The big picture with the stored data is also a mystery.

This 4th course helped me in introducing to open datasets and how to use them for data analytics, as a ML student, understanding and learning sheets made me realise how easily data can be cleaned rather than using python of the same task. The introduction the SQL was not that great though, it was pretty basic

The SQL part may be organized better. I get that the technicalities are not taken as in other standard courses, but I feel like it's too dispersive. Some section was called "data cleaning with SQL" and there was literally no trace at all about data cleaning with SQL.

The section about the CV is simply GREAT.
