About the Course

This course is the seventh course in the Google Data Analytics Certificate. In this course, you’ll learn about the programming language known as R. You’ll find out how to use RStudio, the environment that allows you to work with R, and the software applications and tools that are unique to R, such as R packages. You’ll discover how R lets you clean, organize, analyze, visualize, and report data in new and more powerful ways. Current Google data analysts will continue to instruct and provide you with hands-on ways to accomplish common data analyst tasks with the best tools and resources. Learners who complete this certificate program will be equipped to apply for introductory-level jobs as data analysts. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, learners will: - Examine the benefits of using the R programming language. - Discover how to use RStudio to apply R to your analysis. - Explore the fundamental concepts associated with programming in R. - Understand the contents and components of R packages including the Tidyverse package. - Gain an understanding of dataframes and their use in R. - Discover the options for generating visualizations in R. - Learn about R Markdown for documenting R programming....

Could have been better and tons of time would have been saved if the whole Course was made in two parts like : Course 7 Part A and Course 7 Part B for the people who "Don't Know about Programming and/or R" and "Know about Programming and/or R", respectively. And if a list was added stating all the packages been used in the whole Course along with their uses. Rest everything was amazing.

It was a good introductory course. I think, to truly benefit, one needs to have some level of education in statistics. Its easy to create scatterplots and trendlines with ggplot, but how can knowing that without knowing what linear regression is or what loess smoothing is, really helpful. This isn't a stats course, but I think more reading material should have been provided.

This course, similar to the other courses I have done as part of the Data Analytics Certificate series provides an overview of R programming, data analytics process and visualization. I come away with insights I did not have before around all of the above, and especially using R programming. It is a lot to take in, which I hope to consolidate as time and opportunity allow.

As programming can be complex, I wished we had more hands-on activities focused on importing and filtering data. These two were covered the least yet without them, it is hard to proceed to the next step. Mistakes can be easily made, barring you from proceeding to the next step. More opportunities to practice would be greatly appreciated to help us commit steps to memory.

I appreciated instructors work but Google & Coursera could have done a better work fixing the issues. Week 5 video refers to the file that is not available to the learners : ggplot_hook. The video also has audio issues closer to the end. I know that this issue was first reportes a year ago based on the discussion board. It's sad how it hasn't been fixed after a year.

Dispite that I have background in R, but this course provide information in easy steps, straighth forwards, to the point with sufficient required info for R without loading too much uncessary knowledge for biggeners. I believe thr R Markdown to be revisited to be enhanced and to renove duplcaite materials. In general, it is a wounderful course.

It is a good course, easygoing. But I have one point: add a section where you work with more than one dataset. Where the datasets are joined and connected in a certain way. Then show us how to solve issues where we need both datasets to figure out the answer. All that being said, the course is a great first step to start learning R. Thanks!!

Good basics, very vomprehensive learning materials, lots of very useful links.

It was not clear though how deep and detailed we should learn the actual coding. It was a bit of embarrasment, that based on the exam this was really just to scratch the surface. It would have been nice to get much much more coding exercises and practice sessions.

Unfortunatelly I can't give five stars because the course it is not updated. In the community messages there are a lot of " yes we have to updated" but months passed and still not updated. This is not serious, we are making an effort (personal and economic) to deal with it. It's a pity. The rest very good and the trainer very good too.

Great course to learn some basics about R programming, the information and the lectures and extra links and readings provided were vey useful, you have enough information and you can easily revisit anything you want, in order to improve your knowledge. I would recommend specially if you want to be involved in statistics.

Especially given that many of the earlier units utilized R Markdown files, I feel like the lessons on R Markdown should have been earlier in the course, and not saved until last. Otherwise, I feel like this course did an excellent job of providing a foundation in R Programming, and the resources provided were fantastic.

It great Courser for someone who is a beginner and wants to learn R. The hands-on experience that is provided in this class is very useful and helps a beginner to understand. The person need not be from Coding background to take up this course. The course material is easier to understand and follow.

This course Data Analysis with R Programming was excellent and gave an overall idea for a beginner and the classes and tutorials were awesome. It would be better if some projects are also covered in the course work that focuses on cleaning of null values and manipulation of outliers.

The course was worth it. I love the concept of financial aid . But there are some things that need to be sorted out. There are some topics which seems difficult to me and did not find the videos as useful to clear my doubts. But overall I love the course. the idea and the teacher.

Tough class, and you learn a lot. The way the class was organized required a good amount of study and practice and this worked well. I feel like I can work with R and find what I need to continue to grow my skills. This was a tough course and felt great to complete it!

I THOUGHT THE PRESENTER WAS very clear and reasonably engaging. I found the order a little confusing so I was looking into topics that were briefly covered at the beginning only to find later that they were covered more in depth.

It was pretty detailed. I was satisfied

Frankly, I was annoyed at times that the same things were explained over and ove again, like making simple plots with ggplot2, but in the end I think it is a decent introduction to R. Now I now the basics, can do visualisiations and simple analysis of datasets with R

I think this course covers a lot of ground and the tools that are in high demand in data analytics. However, I feel I only have a surface-level understanding of the tools. I think I'll feel a bit more confident as a candidate after I complete the capstone project.

I think this is a great course. It gives a lot of detail and I think all the lecturers are excellent. I do think the section on R programming needs to be more comprehensive. As I embarked on the case study, I had to do some research to handle the R code for it.

I've been working for 12 years, and did a lot of data analysis job, but due to the industry I had been involved, not much data to analyze. This class on one hand proved what I had done is correct, on the other hand, expand my knowledge on data analytics.

I really loved this course and the tutor. Before i started off i didnt know what writing code looks like. Now i see myself writing codes on R. The course is very resourceful and contains every detail you need to start exploring R all by yourself.

this course is excellent. I'm really missing the natural extension to r language with mastering the shiny web app development.

The level of the r language course is a bit too low.

Could be well extended with an additional module with the statistics

The exercise for getting into R are interesting. I had R phobia, but the step-by-step approach in this course helps me understand the basic codes in R with fun exercises. The 4 stars are given because there are some gaps in explaining the codes.

- This training was an alright refresher for 'R programming'.

- Weekly quizzes for weeks 3 to 5 can be challenging, depending on your background

- The final course quiz/challenge at the end of week 5 was more pleasant to work my way through
