About the Course

Build Dynamic User Interfaces (UI) for Websites is the sixth course in a program that will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, you will plan a design for a website, create wireframes and prototypes, and test your designs to get feedback. Additionally, you will learn about engaging in design critique sessions and how to give and receive feedback. By the end of this course, you will have a new design project to include in your professional UX portfolio. In addition, you’ll learn how to search for entry-level UX design jobs, create a resume that highlights your skills and accomplishments, and build your professional portfolio website. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios. Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Apply each step of the UX design thinking framework (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test) to create a responsive website. - Plan information architecture and create sitemaps for website designs. - Apply common layouts for web pages. - Plan and conduct a usability study to gather feedback about designs. - Iterate on designs based on research insights. - Work with design systems. - Add a new design project to your professional UX portfolio. - [Optional] Create or update a UX-focused resume. - [Optional] Learn how to search for and apply to introductory-level jobs in the field of UX. This course is suitable for beginner-level UX designers who have completed the previous five courses of the Google UX Design Certificate. Alternatively, learners need to have a strong foundational understanding of the design process; experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; and the ability to conduct usability studies. While this course contains much redundant information when viewed alongside the other courses in this certificate, the standalone information and practical assignments are valuable and holistic.

I'm working on building a digital responsive web site. I'm having a hard time with make the frames responsive. I'm quite frustrated with this course. I find myself be sent back and forth between different projects. I find My self going over my work hundred's of times, wasting time in a disorganized matter. The sticker sheet wasn't thought till after everything was put together, thats something you should be teaching in the beginning. I have made hundreds of wireframes. Your course is missing critical components in the beginning like drop down boxes, components, better auto layout explanations, no mention of constraints for these items for auto scaling between desktop useage and mobile useage. This simple technique saves hours and hours of time when taking a project from desktop form to mobile form or the other way around.

Well, I was unfortunate to start this project exactly when Adobe XD was displaced to Creative Cloud! They dragged in a third design project in the last (7th) course, completely nullifying the efforts on the second (this one/ 6th). It turns out I was making a "dynamic" website that does not exist in reality! While the course had a different name and promised to teach how to create a responsive website...So, now I can't put this second project in my portfolio! Instead, I have to do a new one, a third project - a responsive (hooray!) website and dedicated mobile app. How come? This course must be restructured.

These courses get worse and worse as they go on. Course 6 was terribly out of order. Assignments I had NEVER heard of were being asked of me. Methods I never learned about I was expected to perform. It was until I decided to skip around the course that I discovered many things were so unbelievably out of order that the course could not be completed unless you went through cherry picking assignments until they had eventually all been completed. I've been in school for many different skills, this is the WORST learning experience (ironic, I know) I have ever had. It's straight up sucks.

Worst designed of the certificate bunch. Lots of redundant work, Adobe XD is very unfriendly to get a free version working. Lots of features are blocked behind the paid version, and the courses don't acknowledge that so you'll spend a lot of time trying to debug. Honestly should just be deleted from the course.

This course takes SO much longer than the amount of time we are told it will take. I've been working on this course for over a month now. I am expected to build out an entire responsive Ecommerce flow (In other words, 8 different screens, rebuilt 3 separate times) and have had to reset my deadlines twice now.

Felt like this course was way too repetitive of the FIgma unit in the certification path. Perhaps I'd have a better opinion of the instructor and the course if I hadn't just done all the same work in the Figma course.

I is very bad and missing much on the content. The URL was responsive-web-design-adobe-xd. there was no Adobe XD. I was very disappointed. I paid $200 for this.

I think this was a very repetitive course, it made me very tedious, only 3 videos were really useful, of which they teach how to use XD

This course forces you to learn quite a bit about Adobe XD which likely will be obsolete/replaced by Figma.

I recently completed the Responsive Web Design course in Adobe XD and it was an excellent learning experience. The course covered each step of the UX design process, from empathizing with the user to defining the problem, ideating, prototyping, and testing. This allowed me to create a comprehensive website design using Adobe XD that not only met the client's needs but also ensured a great user experience.

One of the highlights of the course was the emphasis on planning information architecture and sitemaps for website designs. This is critical for creating a website that is easy to navigate and ensures that users can find the information they need quickly. Additionally, the course covered common layouts for web pages, which helped me design web pages that are visually appealing and functional.

Overall, the course was well-structured and included a design project that I was able to include in my professional UX portfolio. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in improving their web design skills using Adobe XD.

This is a fast-paced course that relies on prior knowledge from the previous five courses. One needs self-discipline and perseverance to reach the finish line of this course. Although it's meant to be finished in 6 weeks, learners might take more time than that to create a well-thought-through website prototype and case study. This is especially the case for those who aren't learning full-time.

The peer review process was a little tedious as it seems that people are re-using their mobile app designs and not building a website. But at least there aren't as many peer review assignments as in the previous rounds, as the onus is really on the learners to monitor their own progress and make sure they are applying what they learned.

Learning more about Adobe XD was fantastic, as this tool complements Figma and has pretty amazing additional functions (e.g., repeat grids).

Thanks to the Google team for curating such a wonderful course.

Pros: Hands-on Projects: The course emphasizes practical learning, with projects that allow you to apply UI principles directly to real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach is perfect for solidifying concepts. Clear Explanations: The instructors do a fantastic job of breaking down complex topics, making them accessible even to beginners. They cover both foundational UI concepts and more advanced techniques.

Very informative course that gradually moves from easy tasks and concepts towards complex practical tasks. Requires a lot of self-discipline and some additional information search (certain things I had to clarify outside the course's scope since i didnt have a clear answer to the emerging technical challenges with creating prototypes and mockups). I recommend to dedicate specific time per week when you do just this course with your phone put away to eliminated distruction. Try to get into flow state and cover as much as you can.

I liked the process and the courses which were taught, thanks for your good job. However there was something I would like you to help me with. While I was learning the first courses there was a video about how you can choose to learn Adobe XD or continue with Figma! I would have loved to learn about Adobe XD by the help of Google instructors but I did not have access to that, would you please help me with this issue. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I've always loved versatiiity of professionals who can work with different tools for the same or similar tasks. Responsive Web Design in Adobe XD showed how incredible that versatility could be. Being able to design a responsive website with Adobe XD from scratch for the first time implies that I can now work well with two leading software: Adobe XD and Figma in UX Design.

Learning Adobe XD through this course was super easy. Its a great tool to design with. So many useful features, excellent Adobe tutorials to learn from. Responsive Design was another excellent concept I learnt and used in my second project for this course. Finally, the tips to create a UX resume and job search are extremely relevant and useful at this point of the program.

This course was probably the most challenging as it required combining all five previous courses into one culmulative case study. I liked that it allowed us to gain experience in Adobe XD and designing responsive websites. It's alot of information, but good information. Bookmark everything, skim and review in more detail when you have time later.
