Excelent course!

Absolutely the best front-end course I have seen so far. Incredibly clear, even though it teachs the most important concepts that even many practitioners do not know so well.

All in all I thought this was a great foundation setter, with a good mix of learning terms and "theory" behind the methods used, as well as putting concepts that you're learning about along the way to practice (albeit very guided practice). My only complaint is that at times during the more prolonged note taking sections, I had trouble understanding the main narrator and found myself having to replay certain parts back up to 10 times in a row to fully hear what she was saying so I could take accurate and meaningful notes. Combined with that was the speed at which certain concepts were gone over, with 3 or 4 concepts with definitions being launched at us within a 12-15 second period. I understand its not that hard to rewind and pause so it certainly wasn't a huge deal. Just found it to be a little annoying at times when I'm trying to understand a larger concept but have to listen to the same little chunk 7 or 8 times in a row to get my notes down.

The course is extremely well organized and I respect the efforts put into the end of the module summaries. It clearly states what it will cover and what we will learn in every video and I love that. It is a nice course however I think it should be named introduction to Front-end development (which I understand was essential for the backend as well that's why it was placed in this specialization).

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the labs are too easy. Maybe if they were a bit harder and demanded more all of us will leave the course with more confidence. However, the extra resources that it provides are amazing. I personally read one of the books it recommended for HTML and CSS and that helped a lot.

If you want a quick overall introduction to web development, HTML, and CSS as well as CSS frameworks such as Bootstraps then definitely take this course and even use it as a syllabus for further study.

Excellent Course for learning the basics of web development. The structure of the course is well thought out and organized. Despite the fact I was already self taught on front end technology I still gained value from this course. There were things I didn't know about CSS which was covered in this course and I didn't know BootStrap. But most importantly the the thing which I found to be of most value to me was how the internet works. This course portion of the course is well articulated and covers a lot of information, it was well worth the course.

The course is very well done. The instruction speaks very clearly and the visual are very good. The only problem i had was the information came at me very quickly. I had to re watch clips to capture notes and visuals I missed . At the same time i thought re watching helped with a deeper learning so maybe that is to be expected. I was able to finish the course in 3 weeks instead of the 4 weeks the course is divided into.

Here are some improving points, in my opinion:

1. In the web lab for VSC, the preview version in Go live did not work eventhough I followed the steps precisely.

2. I liked the approach of the topics, however I think some of the practices in VSC could contain some more elements to create more interesting or more eye-catching pages, that will motivate as well the student to continue programming.

Thanks!

The course is very good, you learn the basics of how the Internet, browser, and servers work, which is very useful. Although I feel that more exercises are needed, the ones that exist are straightforward and I feel "that they are leading you by the hand." Broadly speaking, it does help if you don't know anything about web development.

I feel like it was too much Front-end for a focused back-end course, but in general (specially the first part) was interesting, learning how the internet works made a lot of clicks for me, like when you skip when you lag in videogames rather than going slower, or when the game tells you you have packet loss.

Good intro to some web technologies and a superficial overview of front-end development. It's a good entry point to a more serious course in WebDev but does not have serious standalone value. The course material is crisp, clear and has ample opportunity for hands on practice,

This course overall is really good, sometimes I do have a tendency to feel left behind as sometimes items could be described in layman's terms to help beginners grasp a clearer understanding of the concepts as the terminology can often be heavy whilst trying to pay attention.

The course was good. Little fast paced for a beginner but great class. My lab didn't work until the very last day, so I was blind to what I was creating. The learning center for help was no help, but the other students really came through. Over all, I would take it again.

This is not the back-end course. All the material is front-end development. Good material but now I have a certificate that says Introduction to Back-End development when it should be front end. I couldn't find the flag icon to report the problem with this course.

In my opinion the self-review sections aren't particularly helpful as I can more or less fudge it to pass - whereas the graded assessments are much more useful as it forces me to engage more with the course content and apply myself a bit more.

The name of the course is Introduction to Back-End Development, but the focus of this course is front-end technologies, course name should be updated accordingly. Course content is pretty basic and suitable for new learners with no background.

The course teaches the basics of internet, html, css and bootstrap. The overall structure of the course was good but I feel that lectures were a little bit rushed and the tone of the instructor was devoid of any humour and even felt robotic.

The course has provided a broad and high-level overview of back-end development. I am not quite new to the topic, but found the content useful, especially with regard to UI libraries and frameworks, and commonly used protocols.

Good to start understanding HTML/CSS. React part of the course - week 3 could have been explained a bit more in detail even though at the cost of increased tenure of the course. Post this course I only know what the theory is.

This was a great course! It showcased the basics of web development, even managing to teach me some Bootstrap too. However, I will say that despite the name, the focus is not solely on backend development.

Great intro to back-end development, however I felt Week 3 was a bit rushed with the Bootstrap topics. Overall, I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a quick introduction to web development.
