This is a course which I enjoyed. It gave a good insight of the learning methodologies which we have often heard of but not given due importance. Also, the brain facts is cool :) My 5/5 to this course

The best course so far. I feel like this course actually showed us things we would be doing day to day in the workplace. It's nice to problem solve since that will probably be a big chunk of the job.

The best things about this path were the first course and all of the labs. Even as somebody who has worked in IT, I was very engaged in the first course because of how it flowed and presented information in a slow enough manner to digest it. The labs were informative and facilitated hands-on learning. The absolute worst things were the "select all the right answers" style quizzes and asking people to write an essay at the end with no expectation of that at the beginning. I was tired of looking at why I got a question wrong on a practice quiz or graded assignment and seeing, "while this is true in some cases, [pedantic reason why it wasn't considered correct according to the Google course]." That leaves ample opportunity for industry professionals to discredit this certification because their real world experience conflicts with Google's subjective information. As for the design document, under no circumstances do you ask people to write something like that without a template. State testing, SATs, and English degrees don't do that so why would a free certification course where many people in it don't have English as their first language?

I experienced various bugs and data failures loss like my graded work completion being updating throughout this course and at times had to complete labs in foreign languages due to constraint. I'm unsure if my data saved after the Coursera support reset my weeks and grades literally wiping out my original and resulting in having to send screenshots and pictures of the work before the changes. Overall this has been a pretty disappointing and frustrating experience using Coursera especially knowing you paid money for it monthly.

SO I pay to see a random guy talk almost all the course. ITs not interactive, no videos, no demonstrations., just talk bla bla bla. Please improve a LOT

So far i have not been impressed with how this certification has been run. Im still unable to finish course 2 because while everything else has been in English my GRADED activities have been in Russian. Making it impossible for me to finish it. Also I understand that when going through something like this it is expected that you will do leanring on your own. However i think its ridiculous that the instructors give bare minimum information and just tell you to look at the readings. I would like it if they actually explained the information better. I think its crazy that im paying 50 dollars a month to have them teach me almost nothing and have to try my best to understand what they are saying through the readings.

This is an incredible Program. The content is exactly what I needed. However, the video texts need editing for spelling and relationship to what the speaker is saying and their relationship to exercises. The exercises need the instructions as a side panel so they can be read while doing them. Some of the later exercises have them. I used two computers. The information on due dates is all screwed up. Microsoft is not making it easy for you. They make so many updates that virtually most every module has something updated. That's where the two computers worked cause I tried everything that was presented on my MAC on a PC setting next to the MAC. I began using and operating computers since 1957. [89 yrs old] I have been developing and instructing training courses since 1963 and see these things and have taught 1000's of participants. My courses have translated into 38 languages and handed off to most developing countries.More than. I would be happy to visit with someone from Coursera or Google. Jerry L Williams JLW and Associates 8840 N. Loeffler Ln

Whoa! That was intense! I was challenged on this course to not only think like an IT Sys Admin but to also be the one making decisions on how the IT Infrastructure of an organization of 100 people will be implemented and improved! Thanks so much for taking me out of my comfort zone and pushing me to think about the larger picture. I feel confident that whether I am running my own small organization or if I am in charge of one I share a common goal with that I will be prepared. Thanks to Devan for once again sharing with us his expertise in the subject and making it all make sense. Looking forward to the next one where I feel I will be challenged even more but with IT Automation maybe I can make it a little less scary.

This course was really cool to tie everything together some. I especially really like the final project. Really well written case studies that have different problems for each of the three companies instead of a lot of redundancy and overlap. After thinking of like 15 different ways that multiple businesses can improve, you start to realize your personal value and ability to contribute in many ways that have a real impact in a sysadmin role.

So why not just tell people, go take a course on Active Directory ? The rest of of it is just useless, just clicked through an passed. I use to teach flying to students and I know these Google guys are smart but this is just an overview of what you need to go learn on your own. So I paid someone to tell me go actually study this.

The course is fantastic, I've learnt a lot about things that I am really interested in but I just wish it would be more specific instead of just throwing commands around and not explaining them. More Qwiklabs would be great, that's where I learnt the most.
