Overall this was a refresher for me. I was able to reconnect with some of the Excel functions and can now apply those to my current job. The teachings and exercises I found useful and easy to follow.

Some of the important topics like pivot tables were not explained properly. The whole course needs improvement with regards to teaching style, like.... this course needed in-depth teaching from scratch for beginners like us. The video quality and audio quality should have been better. Learned a lot about excel from youtube in an easy way than this IBM excel course.

It would be great if this was an elective. I would like to receive the Data Analytics certificate and the assumption was made that people taking this series don't have basic excel skills. it would have been great to be able to opt out of this and still get the certificate as a finance professional who has been using excel for many years.

In Task 7 Part 2 I couldn't upload the complete project simply because both Excel online and Excel desktop have changed its layout so I couldn't find the right tabs, tools, and panes to complete the tasks as described.
Very frustrating. Will not recommend.

A lot of inconsistencies between the hands-on work instructions and the grading rubric, making it very easy to fail the labs and become confused on what you are suppose to be doing and if you are doing it right. This needs to be fixed in this course. Otherwise, it discourages people from even finishing the course at all. I got marked off on my final project during peer review solely based on a rubric that was completely different than the spreadsheet I was given for the project. I lost almost 1/3 of the points because my answers (which were right) were graded against a rubric that did not even correspond to the spreadsheet project. I understand that IBM wants to change the spreadsheets regularyl to deter cheating, but they also have to change the lab instructions to correspond with whatever version of excel is publicly available and change their grading rubric to match the new spreadsheet that they provide as well.

The lack of accountability for the learner does not provide an environment for the learner to actually learn the content. The use of peer review by the instructors is lazy. Peer reviewers do not always accurately or fairly grade assignments leading to frustration for the learner. I would not recommend this course of all the basic Excel courses available.

Very basic course, with nice coverage of basic functions - but relatively no coverage of actual Excel Data Analysis functions and no coverage of in-depth real case

Really confusing as many aspects of the tutorial don't seem to appear in excel, which is really frustrating as this is an important aspect of Excel and I feel like I will just have to skip over this and now not feel confident going forward, will most likely have to invest in other training programs specifically for pivot tables and charts and am now put off from coursera.

I just like to make some comments about the evaluation being rendered by some students. I understand that this is a peer-graded final projects (most of the time). However, there were some student who are not really giving fair evaluation that sometimes even if it's reasonable to give a good grade, it ended up having the least grade or sometimes zero. Whenever I rate a peer project, I always bear in mind that the grade I will give is very important to the owner of the project because he/she spent time and resource in order to finish it. With that, it serves for me a guiding principle to make reasonable consideration in rendering my evaluation which demand personal responsibility to me - that I need to make sure that I fully understand the task, myself. Whether, generally or personally speaking, I would like to clarify that this is not a dispute but a reasonable comment about being fair and considerate as we all know that some students are not well verse in the evaluation task. We also need to consideration that there are those if they received a low grade they would also tend to find reasons to give low evaluation to the student's project they're evaluation. I would love to help aspiring students whom I feel striving to submit a job well done though as not exactly as evaluation letter after letter far from any form of discrimination, and of course, not being discriminated. Besides, I believe that the grades are very important or I say precious especially to one who's yet building his/her career because credentials like this also speaks for the validity of their skillset. I hope you won't mind me giving this comment, I just really have to say it. Thank you.

Title: Comprehensive and User-Friendly Excel Course
I recently completed the Excel course on Coursera and found it to be an excellent resource for learning how to use Excel. The course is well-organized and easy to navigate, with clear video explanations and helpful practice exercises.
One thing I appreciated about this course was the comprehensive coverage of all the major features of Excel. From basic formatting and formula creation to advanced data analysis and visualization techniques, the course covered everything I needed to know to become proficient in Excel.
Another great aspect of the course was the user-friendly interface that made it easy to follow along with the instructor and practice the skills in real-time. The quizzes and assignments were also helpful in reinforcing the concepts learned in each module.
Overall, I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their Excel skills. The instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, and the course material was presented in a clear and concise manner. Thank you, Coursera, for providing such a valuable resource!

Very good, surpassed my expectations. Most people know how to use excel, and can figure out how to do basically anything with it, as long as they dedicate enough time to the task, but this course concisely and effectively teaches you the basics, some analytical techniques, as well as many useful tips to speed up your workflow. I wish hlookup and vlookup was a bit better explained, i had to search for a video to complement the explanation. I also wish the peer review task was autocorrected, since its not an open task, and it definitely could be. And finally I wish they'd have taught how to name columns/cell ranges, I think its an important basic skill. But overall its a great course. I wish they'd teach it this way at highschool, I'm sure if they did people would generally use spreadsheets much more effectively.

There is a clear error in Part 2 Task 3 being asked in the peer evaluation if the table showed "like this". The next task is to sort the table in descending order and task 3 table will not look the same (unless theres another pivot table required).
I was marked zero for this question which clearly should have been 2 points as I did that except the table has been changed because the requirement is to sort it by descending order.
I think that question is unnecessary to be asked in the peer evaluation since the table will not show and it confuses the reviewers. Hoping for a fix on this.
Overall, I learned a lot which is the most important, and why I'm still marking the course 5 stars.

I recently took the Excel Basics for Data Analysis course and overall, I was quite happy with the content. The course covered a lot of ground and I found myself learning a lot about the basics of Excel and data analysis. However, I did find that some concepts could have been explained in more depth, particularly VLOOKUP. While the course did cover this function, I found myself wanting more information and examples to really understand how to use it effectively. That being said, I would still recommend this course to anyone looking to get started with Excel and data analysis. It provided a solid foundation and was definitely worth the investment.

The course was a great review. I don't love the peer review format for the final project. The first time I submitted, I could clearly see my attachments however my peer said there were none attached and gave me zero points for everything. The second attempt was better but the peer reviewer still took of points for things that weren't being graded (such as where the sums are on the worksheet, the directions did not specify where to put them and mine were in the same place as the demo video yet I still lost points. Definitely being nitpicky but it matters to me.)

My name is Anas Abdirahman. Thank you very much. I am very happy to have completed my “Excel Basics for Data Analysis” course. It is really challenging to start something and finish it, but with the effort and determination I put in, I was able to complete it and earn the certificate. I have one piece of advice for young people: today, those who are learning are mostly you. You are the majority. Please, do not leave things unfinished. Try to complete what you start. Thank you all very much

IT WAS A GREAT COURSE, BUT i THINK IST NEEDS SOME IMPROVEMENT IN THE LAB ACTITIVIES AS WELL AS TH IN THE SECTION OF PIVOT TABLES. YOU HAVE TO BE ESPECIFIC ABOUT THE SECTIONS TO LOCATE OPTIONS FOR THE PIVOT TABLE SORTING.
tHERE IS ANOTHER MISTAKE IN THE FINAL PROJECT ALONST AT THE END OF THE INSTRUCTONS. YOU ALSO SHOULD USE ARROWS AND COLORS TO HIGHLIGHT THE MENU OPTIONS AND POINT OUT THE STEPS TO DO IT EASIEST.
OVERALL I GIVE YOU A 98% . GREAT WORK!!

This course provides the best platform for an entry level candidate, who aspires to learn data cleaning tools, spreadsheet basics and the fundamental processes of data cleaning methods plus, an outlined theory of utilizing functions and formulas.
This course is a perfect elaborated, breakdown that defines all the tech_named Jargon and defines it in simple day to day language for anyone, even without technical background to relate to and understand
