I was in the process of a career shift from the typical 3D industry to the Game industry. I sought a solid course to help me understand the gaming industry. Luckily Epic Games had launched this series of courses for Game Design. This helped me understand a lot of terms, and how things are prepared at a studio level, right from GDD to the distribution of the game in the market from the Introduction to Game Design course. Still, a lot more to go as this is just the start of Epic Games Game Design Professional Certification.

This course has given me a direction with my game and motivated me to continue its development. Ryan is an excellent teacher, his videos are short, direct and very well explained. Ryan’s YouTube channel has been one of my go to resources for my game development journey. 10/10 highly recommend. Looking forward to playing MiMic!

I often struggled with finishing many things, but this course pushed me to write up a game design document that was far more thorough than any other previous GDD's I have written. Ryan was very detailed in his instructional videos, and his clarity made it easy to understand the fundamentals of game design.

The explanation of the material is very in-depth, and the instructor is a very professional person in his field. I hope that by studying this course it can make it easier to find my career in the field of game development

This course covers essential information that will develop key skills and methods for developing games and becoming a good game designer. I could not give it 5 stars because the assignments' open questions settings. Additionally, sometimes it feels like the assignments' questions have not really been covered in detail during the course. Perhaps receiving an AI feedback along with peer review would be a good addition. However, very useful course!

Really good detail on the workings of the industry and descriptions of different steps to game design. I did learn a huge amount! The only thing I would improve are that some of the tests are out of order so I had to struggle through them. I was not expecting to design and create an idea of a game altogether by the end but I am better for it.

The 2 assignments were great, as I felt I learned a lot and had excellent examples and instructions to work from. The video content is also great. The quizzes were quite frustrating as many of the questions were not covered in the video content, but fortunately they were very repetitive.
