About the Course

By the end of this project, you will learn how to create an Excel Spreadsheet by using a free version of Microsoft Office Excel. Excel is a spreadsheet that works like a database. It consists of individual cells that can be used to build functions, formulas, tables, and graphs that easily organize and analyze large amounts of information and data. Excel is organized into rows (represented by numbers) and columns (represented by letters) that contain your information. This format allows you to present large amounts of information and data in a concise and easy to follow format. Microsoft Excel is the most widely used software within the business community. Whether it is bankers or accountants or business analysts or marketing professionals or scientists or entrepreneurs, almost all professionals use Excel on a consistent basis. You will learn what an Excel Spreadsheet is, why we use it and the most important keyboard shortcuts, functions, and basic formulas....

A little less content than expected but the title does say it's just an intro plus it's free. The explanations are clear and the course is quite engaging. The Coursera platform is very user-friendly.

I am satisfied because everything explained was done beautifully. The pace of speaking was very appropriate for myself, not being a native English speaker, to comprehend. But this also seemed to me very basic because I have worked in MS Word and Powerpoint before but i didn't know Excel other than the formatting that is a mutual feature in Word and Powerpoint. I think that the formulas, being significant feature of Excel were not given more attention. For example what to do if we have, let's say at least 100 rows of data or even 50, should you expect us to click on each of the 50 or 100 cells and also press + sign every time. This would be very in-efficient. I think that should've been explained. Regardless, I think this is a very basic course and it is for people who start learning with no experience of using any Microsoft programs and it is a very well-structured and well composed one too. I give it a 4.5 rating. Thanks.

I liked the course and learned some new things. However, because it was a split screen (laptop) I was having trouble going back and forth. I'm glad the instructor gave us time to pause, but I found myself going back and forth on the video, especially on the formula part. Maybe if the instructions would have been slightly more clear and given another example perhaps, so that we know we are on the right track. The formulas can be challenging, so more of a visual aide or taking us through each spreadsheet and reinforcing that knowledge would have been more beneficial. I appreciate that it was a free class and it can get me started to do more with Excel. Overall, it was a good experience.

I went into this expecting very basic subjects and to my surprise, it was extremely basic lmao. I know I said I was looking for something basic but damn that really was basic. I'd like to add however it did help in being a intro to the program and even teaches you a formula as well. Useful if you really don't know anything about it and it helps there a lot. I recommend it if anything just to teach you the very basic.

The only reason to rate this project a 4 was that, according to me it isn't an intermediate-level project. The concepts included are very basic and hence should be categorized as a beginner-level project. However, for beginners, it is a very well-structured project with important basics included to enhance productivity and emphasize organization in Excel.

Pretty decent for people that have never touched the excel program. Goes into some basic information of the excel ribbon, formulas, and layout of an excel spreadsheet. Ends it off with a short quiz about aspects you learned through the lab assignment. Give it a try if you are starting fresh to excel as an easy introduction!

The course was very good for somebody who are experimenting with Microsoft office software for the first time. The instructor explains all the basics like changing font, the ribbons, etc. But in general, this course is a good option to start with the Excel, especially according to its time taking.

Thanks!

It was quite helpful, especially revealing the keyboard shortcuts and formulas that can be used in entering and computing data on Excel sheets. I didn't also know one could create a free Microsoft office account before the course. It's a nice experience.
