Excellent course. Having some background in Python and databases, one can start building Django applications at once.

This course was packed with a lot of information that needs to be unpacked.
The onus is on you to find the solutions and more information elsewhere which is
what you have to do in the real world.
I really enjoyed it. The cloud code environment sometimes has issues but I was able to code on
my own local environment since you are provided with instructions.
I gave it 4 stars because the skills network coding platform can be frustrating but I do highly
recommend the course!

Starts off with a one week review of relational databases and SQL, which ends up being mostly irrelevant. Weeks 2, 3 and 4 provide a reasonable introduction to Django and forms a decent learning experience. Week 5 is the final project, which is a waste of time. It comprises a hugely overinflated and overcomplicated project, into which you copy paste template code as required until finished. This final project needs to be massively reduced in scope, to a much simpler model and task, so that students can actually be challenged to write their own code and demonstrate what they have learnt. As it stands now, the final project provides no indication of what a student has learnt about Django.

The final assessment is using outdated commands. So if you're not very familiar with python setup you lose about an hour getting started. Not to mention the time it takes to debug the outdated commands

Similar to IBM's React and Node.js course, this one also needs an overhaul. Similar problems persist with this course even though its slightly better than the two others mentioned: 1) Content is too shallow and theoretical 2) No actual code along videos to see what pieces of code does what 3) No overall big picture to understand why we are doing certain steps, the labs just tell us what to do and we have to follow along like a monkey 4) Not enough coding exercises to actually practice coding in Python using Django framework 5) Using the online cloud environment is detrimental and I kept getting stuck, better off actually having some videos and helper guides for setting up locally
