About the Course

This is the fourth course in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate. These courses will equip you with the skills you need to apply for an entry-level cybersecurity job. You’ll build on your understanding of the topics that were introduced in the third Google Cybersecurity Certificate course. In this course, you will explore computing skills that you’ll use on-the-job as a cybersecurity analyst. First, you'll practice using Linux, an operating system commonly used by cybersecurity professionals. For example, you'll use the Linux command line through the Bash shell to navigate and manage the file system and authenticate users. Then, you'll use SQL to communicate with a database. Google employees who currently work in cybersecurity will guide you through videos, provide hands-on activities and examples that simulate common cybersecurity tasks, and help you build your skills to prepare for jobs. Learners who complete this certificate will be equipped to apply for entry-level cybersecurity roles. No previous experience is necessary. By the end of this course, you will: - Explain the relationship between operating systems, applications, and hardware. - Compare a graphical user interface to a command line interface. - Identify the unique features of common Linux distributions. - Navigate and manage the file system using Linux commands via the Bash shell. - Use Linux commands via the Bash shell to authenticate and authorize users. - Describe how a relational database is organized. - Use SQL to retrieve information from a database. - Apply filters to SQL queries and use joins to combine multiple tables....

The course content is very much apt for beginners. The hands-on experience for Linux commands helps to gain practical knoeledge. Each of the module has assignments which are helpful for knowledge assessment. Few of the modules have an assignment that tells us to make reports based on given hypothetical scenario. Transcript for each video is helpful for better understanding in case of mishearing. There are 8 main topics containing 4 modules each. Every module has tremendous weightage of contents and a lot to learn. The interaction with professionals working in the same domain is a an add-on for learners. Overall course content is good.

This course was honestly not my favorite that is why I gave the star rating I gave. This course made me cry a lot. If I don't understand something and don't have immediate help when I need it i have a panic attack. I have test anxiety and I start to cry. I did take a week break away from the studies to regroup but I end up again having problems. I ended up having some patience and try again. The more fails the more it starts to stick. I will need to learn more about this course in the future projects to come but for now its a NO for me of like this course lol.

This course was a bit more interesting than the previous ones in the Google cybersecurity course work. The first 3 courses are a little too hands off and not very interactive. Maybe it would be better if they were broken up and split into the other courses. Also, I feel like the subject material is covered well for an introduction into the career path - but I feel that there should be more practice examples and that the coursework should return to topics in later modules that were learned previously to help reinforce the knowledge.

The information in this course was very valuable. However the presentation of the information lacked a certain level of interest in my opinion. It was a bit harder to follow along. I started to lose interest and second guess myself but I will review the information for a better understanding. It was more difficult to stay attentive with this instructor's teaching methods but as I review the information and re-do the assignments overtime I am creating a better understanding of SQL.

I Think this course was very well done. I never thought I'd find a platform that let you practice SQL. This lets you really put practice into the commands. I have a much much higher understanding of how to use SQL granted the Tables may be different per the employers agency but it's much easier to understand the pattern of how it works. With more practice I could really do well in it. Nice course!

Some weeks could have been broken up into an additional week. Labs were helpful but wished that if we were going to use the same lab for portfolio then give us more time to take the screenshots in that session instead of having to do the lab all over again. Great course that taught technical items in a concise way!

I loved the Linux part of the course and the VMs were great for learning some hands-on training. The SQL part of the certification was not my favorite. I found the virtual machines were not helpful with step-by-step instructions so I got lost sometimes.

The course is ok. My only problem with the course is that there were not enough practical sessions. There is need to add more practical sessions to make things a lot more acceptable. For instance, more hands on is needed in the linux and SQL area

Amazing course for beginners. I only gave it 4 and not 5 starts because it doesn't cover or mention the importance of input validation, parameterized queries, and other requirements that prevent SQL vulnerabilities such as SQL injection attacks.

I really enjoyed this course. It dived into areas of LINUX and SQL that I got a chance to explore. The lab experiences were definitely a challenge for me, but once I got the groove of it I was able to complete them.

There was a lot of great content in this course. It seemed like twice as much info in this course than in the other courses in this program. I like the technical aspects of this course and it had great analogies.

I think a more guided approach to learning SQL is necessary. Some concepts are much trickier to understand, and more examples where we get time to practice rather than just labs would be a valuable resource.

it can be a whole lot better. Kali linux needs more emphasis. SQL needs more attention, maybe introduce a module 5 for SQL, that way it gets more flexible and both linux and SQL have equal representation.

It was harder than I thought it would be. I did enjoy the challenge. I would have liked more indepth study on the SQL chapter as was given to the Linux module, especially the section on SQL Joins.

for most part it was kinda easy because am useing linux mint 20.1, now the SQL got little difficult at times, scenes it a virtual machine or box. There was not a a lot Respiratory to choose from.
