Studying networking has been an insightful and enriching journey that has broadened my understanding of the intricacies of modern communication. As I delved into the world of computer networks, I discovered a fascinating realm of interconnected devices, protocols, and technologies that power the digital landscape we rely on every day.

Throughout my study of networking, I encountered various fundamental concepts, starting with the foundation of the Internet Protocol (IP) and its two main versions, IPv4 and IPv6. Understanding the significance of IP addressing and subnetting was pivotal in comprehending how data packets travel across networks. Learning to work with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses has enabled me to troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance.

Moreover, diving into the realms of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) provided me with valuable insights into designing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructures. I explored various network devices such as routers, switches, and access points, which play critical roles in routing traffic and ensuring seamless data transfer.

One of the highlights of my networking study was exploring the domain name system (DNS) and its vital role in translating human-readable domain names into machine-readable IP addresses. Mastering DNS resolution mechanisms and troubleshooting techniques has proven indispensable in resolving domain-related issues.

Security has always been a significant concern in the digital age, and studying networking helped me comprehend the various security protocols and mechanisms essential for safeguarding data and systems. I learned about encryption, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security practices that play a pivotal role in securing network communications.

Furthermore, the world of network virtualization and cloud computing intrigued me with its potential to revolutionize the way we deploy, manage, and scale networks. Exploring virtualization technologies, such as virtual machines (VMs) and containers, opened my eyes to the efficiencies and flexibility they offer in creating isolated, software-defined environments.

As I conclude my networking study, I can confidently say that it has been a captivating and rewarding experience. Networking is at the heart of modern-day communication, and acquiring knowledge in this domain has empowered me to comprehend the dynamic interplay between various devices and protocols. My newfound expertise in networking will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for my future endeavors in the ever-evolving world of technology.

In retrospect, I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to study networking. It has equipped me with essential skills and knowledge to navigate the complex world of computer networks, making me better prepared to contribute to the advancement of technology in various professional fields.

Thanks Victor ! See You Soon !

I am missing the time and words to truly describe how helpful each and every module has been for me thus far...In getting to know information technology as such through each step I have been enabled to take through this wonderful short Google course. Even though I am half way through it, I am finding it to be the most comparable, inexpensive, yet totally appropriate, entry-level course for the intended purposes, i.e., to get introduced to the world of information technology.

I have to admit, though, that without my prior understanding of basic IT, my daily drive to want to know more about IT, would have made things a little bit different. As such, some folks out there might be uncomfortable with the learning content. In any case, it might serve as a turning or U-turn point for many..

As far as I am concerned, I am very pleased and capable of going to the next stage. Well done, Google.

Note for Coursera: Thank you, Coursera, for being able to have a business model such as this. Though try to wind back on the fees; for what you have behind the waves, is an entire ocean, so take it easy with your fees.

Much of the course was taught by a couple different IT Pros. One was Victor, an Operations ENGINEER. He was fantastic, great stage presence; he speaks with commanding authority. He left NO Stone Un-Turned. Amazingly, yet very tough material, and; borders on 'The Calculus of Telecommunications,' he had simple and good illustrations. Superb Slides, Notes, Summaries, images, Circuit Layouts. Free Bonus; he gives you the full Glossary List of all (Terms) Acronyms, and the meanings. That's the 300 Acronym List we must memorize, to Pass Certification Exams like: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+. Five routers walk into a Bar. Who gets to hold the car keys ? The Designated Router . . . Victor is among other illustrious patriots like Paul Revere, who said: "1 IF by LAN; two IF by C." He broke the complex Theory down into BYTE Size Pieces. I give full five stars because I so like the format, content, knowledge, instructors,.. .. of this course so very much!. If I should fail, quit, give up, dedicate to other,... it will definitely not be because of this great course, so far I can tell & see, but still I'm on, 3 more to go so remains to be seen. To all those considering this course: If you really want to get an overview, understand the connections,.. & more, this is definitely a superb one to start with. Jobwise I cannot tell yet, it really depends on one own I guess and as an absolutely beginner and actual IT, Mechanics, Mathematics,.. unfamiliar and struggling one, the instructors but also former students tell that everyone can learn :-). So I try and see progress, even in steps ;-). Thanks & good luck & dedication to all taking this course :-)
