After taking this course, I can see where & how I can apply my skills and love for numbers. I am confident in my decision and cant wait to put all the pieces together.

Thank you, Coursera & Intuit!

This course was well put together. I used to feel so intimidated by finances. The interactive videos and practice exercises do a fantastic job of explaining concepts learned throughout this course.

Wish there was more support to answer questions I have. Numbers and accounting are not my forte, I'm doing the course as a business owner to help me to understand the numbers and where my business stands, how to set goals and work towards them. I've found the course information to be ok, but there's just so many questions I have that I'm not able to get answers to due to the lack of support. I can review all I want, but without someone to explain certain things I'm stuck on, I don't feel that it's helping me learn how to utilize this new skill effectively.

I really felt like the debits/credits were not explained thoroughly. I was not given enough information to be able to reason them out. Also, I wish at the end of the course you would have provided what the case study Excel workbook looked like when properly filled out. Overall, I felt like I learned a lot. I thought the assumptions were well explained and I appreciated the QBO walkthroughs.

As an educator, if only 47% of my students passed the cumulative test at the end, I would re-evaluate my lessons based on their results.

I think that if we were able to be more hands on rather than just watching someone else do work it woud be helpful. For example, if the quizes were similar to the final case study.

Also an answer sheet of the final case study would be helpful. That way I can see why my balance sheet is off and learn from my mistakes rather than just feeling like I did good enough to pass but don't truely understand that materal.

I also found that there was a lot of filler talk. "Oh Lou sweety honey" etc..

The course itself seems to cover a decent amount of material, but I found the format/design to be irritating. The videos with the over-the-top character were a distraction, and I didn't connect with that person at all. I suppose the concept is supposed to make the material feel more accessible, but for me, it made it feel less professional and silly. I did enjoy the videos of professional bookkeepers/accountants, but the sound quality was poor for many of them.

Its good with the definitions and the practice quizzes. However I feel this course needs a little more work on the math application of the course. Having more problem solving application when it comes to formula and working the accounting cycle. I know its bookkeeping but I feel the knowledge would be applicable more if the course had more problem solving examples. Especially towards the end where the preparation lacked in the exam questions and framework

I have no prior knowledge or background in bookkeeping so found it challenging at times to fully comprehend what was being taught. I definitely need more hands on experience in quickbooks. Not sure I feel prepared to work in quickbooks at this point. Basically what I got out of this course was an introduction to various bookkeeping terms. I felt there was a lot of wasted time with some of the short videos which were not really necessary.

I mistakenly enrolled in Tally bookkeeping for 2 days before realizing it was a India based program. Once enrolled in the QB course I realized the Tally direct teaching approach best fit my learning style. I'm offended distracted by the cartoonish video attempt to give a real world approach vs teaching terms, concepts and supporting the facts with an underline real world story. It would be good to have access to QB during this course.

It would be extremely helpful as a student for there to be an option in the tests to go back and study further and restart the test at a later time. I really needed help with the General ledger, balance sheet to income statement and couldn't find where I learned the equations. It took so long before I could find my notes and study further. It's important that I understand how to do this not just the right answer.

There was only one case study at the end. Does not give you real case studies to do along the way with an answer key that breaks down and explains everything. There is no means to ask questions. I will have to take another bookkeeping course because this one did not adequately teach me the concepts, even though I scored multiple 100s on quizzes.

This course does cover the basics, but there's not a lot of practical work involved. I wish there had been more exercises. Additionally, some of the experts were hard to follow and not great at explaining concepts. Finally, the "summary" sections weren't summaries of what was taught or an overview of key takeaways; they were just cartoons.

Actually 5 stars for academic content, but I didn't love the interface of Bianca. While I can se that having a "real world" case study, like Lou, and bookkeeper, Bianca, for him to interact with are very valuable, I felt like there was a lot of filler that was supposed to give Bianca more personality but just felt like a time wasted.

The experts could have been a little bit clearer than just showing examples or saying things like "if you have this company you can do things like this". I wish the experts would have actually explained what they were talking about instead of talking about their own clients. The cartoon was easier to understand than the experts.

I only gave this course 3 stars because it is said to be a basic course, which it is, but you need to have a fundamental understanding of accounting to understand the points being made. The topics covered she touched on so briefly that someone just starting would not really understand what to do and how to proceed.

The cartoon narration/sarcasm was not something preferred/professional. The real life "experts" where great, but could use some academic visuals to support. An option for more practice with topics that are new or practice with Quickbooks would have been helpful (optional only for those who want more practice).

Choppy videos, would be nice if they were grouped in better rather than 30 second videos that you then have to click on something to continue. breaks up flow. Errors in spelling in a few slides... laggy videos that restarted multiple times. Otherwise, content is decent and quizzes are good reflection of material.

I think the final exam should SHOW YOU the work so you KNOW you are doing it right. I wanted to see the absolute correct Balance sheet, income statement, retained earnings JE, etc. We weren't taught those 100%. Also "clicking "the number and moving it into the highlighted field is not TEACHING it.

Information was presented out of order at times, with assessments including questions for which answers were not yet provided. The interactive learning was choppy as well, with more submitting, continuing, and switching videos than necessary. Still received good information though.

Pretty good course overall, the videos are a little too flashy, the plugins need work and I had some issues understanding or finishing the final quiz. But it did a good enough job teaching me about Bookkeeping Basics that I feel confident to move forward learning the next course

I think this course should be more detailed. It's kind of fast pace if you never did bookkeeping before. I was lucky enough to already have some experience in bookkeeping. Maybe should have a little more detail to bookkeeping. Credit and Debit could have a little more detail.

There was an area on the final test that could have used some clarification as to how the income statement was pulling from the general ledger & trial balance. I had to backtrack my answer to try and figure out but still came up correct on one but wrong on the other.

Generally good. Would have been helpful if there were the final forms of the Income Statement, Trial Balance, and General Ledger so that you could compare your answers with the students. The entire section on Inventory, COGS was very confusing and not easy to follow.

The information in the course is excellent, an absolutely fantastic introduction or refresher, however the cartoon style and low quality accents in voice acting made the content a lot harder to pay attention to and seemed to add some unnecessary time to the course.

The videos were a little cheesy and didn't cover debits and credits well enough. They literally said that the more I practice, the more I will understand without giving any instruction first. That is not helpful! If I practice incorrectly, I will learn incorrectly!

I thought the course was very interesting and I enjoyed the content however, I'm not sure if I missed something crucial in the course content but at the end I felt I was thrown into a bookkeeping final test without much actual practice beforehand.

Bianca is annoying. I am tired of hearing 'oh honey' in her Brooklyn/Boston accent. Where is she from? Is she made up? Also the 'expert' with the headset needs to format her thoughts before recording her videos. She says 'ummm' entirely too much.
