About the Course

Build Dynamic User Interfaces (UI) for Websites is the sixth course in a program that will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, you will plan a design for a website, create wireframes and prototypes, and test your designs to get feedback. Additionally, you will learn about engaging in design critique sessions and how to give and receive feedback. By the end of this course, you will have a new design project to include in your professional UX portfolio. In addition, you’ll learn how to search for entry-level UX design jobs, create a resume that highlights your skills and accomplishments, and build your professional portfolio website. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios. Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Apply each step of the UX design thinking framework (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test) to create a responsive website. - Plan information architecture and create sitemaps for website designs. - Apply common layouts for web pages. - Plan and conduct a usability study to gather feedback about designs. - Iterate on designs based on research insights. - Work with design systems. - Add a new design project to your professional UX portfolio. - [Optional] Create or update a UX-focused resume. - [Optional] Learn how to search for and apply to introductory-level jobs in the field of UX. This course is suitable for beginner-level UX designers who have completed the previous five courses of the Google UX Design Certificate. Alternatively, learners need to have a strong foundational understanding of the design process; experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes; and the ability to conduct usability studies. No previous experience with Figma is required....

Thank you for providing helpful tips on building a resume and preparing for real-life situations. The Dave course was a fantastic experience, and I am grateful for the valuable insights it provided

While this course contains much redundant information when viewed alongside the other courses in this certificate, the standalone information and practical assignments are valuable and holistic.

Hello, Overall, I love this course; it has made me aware of many important things. However, there is one thing that particularly disappointed me. It's about the feedback-sharing stage. To be honest, this was the stage I was most looking forward to, especially considering how much work I put into my parking app project. I was curious to see how it would be received, and I even received email notifications that two people had reviewed it. However, when I clicked on the button, I was only shown the view of my work on the Coursera page, with no other information. It leaves me with the impression that no one actually reviewed it, and I am left feeling slightly disappointed. I noticed in the discussion that I am not the only one with this impression. I recommend changing how this stage functions, as it can be frustrating for those who are really engaged. Best regards

Dave and Shabi are both excelent teachers, I have ejoyed every video at this course. But there is one important thing to improve, I really think you could iterate on the peers review system, I don't think this is a proper way to pass a course. I have had to evaluate the work of colleagues who did not understand the instructions, did not upload the appropriate documents and did not learned the basics in the course. The fact that these people have passed the previous courses takes away a lot of value from the certificate. Our work should be evaluated and approved by a designer or an instructor.

Course 6 was the most tedious due to my struggles with Adobe XD, struggling for more than 6 weeks.

I was annoyed with the Adobe and Adobe products as a whole! Which prolonged my course 6 and 7 deadlines. I planned to finish the course in March/April yet four months in, I finally finished the course! Thanks to Figma and MY LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST - SON OF MAN!

I am going to reward myself with a new Google course!

I found the videos to be at a too fast pace. Adobe XD was difficult to learn, I would have liked more step-by-step guidance, especially in written form. Also, it is very confusing that the Adobe XD subscrition award is being given at the beginning of the course 1 in this certificate and until you need to use Adobe XD you forget about it or it expires.

Really unrealistic time frames given for completing case study tasks. I also found there to be inconsistancies with regards to what is required with desktop and mobile versions. Although this module is titled as responsive website - there really is no concentration on responsiveness, i felt it was rather an after thought.

The only downside is you will struggle to find a job without having 2 years minimum professional experience !! I finished the course one year ago, and till today I didn't manage to land a ux/ui job ( Google should give us a small internship so we can have more experience in the field

The actual UI part was good, and that we could have learn about website/landing types. However I don't get it why we had to learn the same and the learning material's sequence is confusing and not logical for me.

It would've been nice to include the Adobe XD in the beginning of the course so that when I got to this point I wasn't learning another tool. It was a bit challenging, but other than that, great content!

If you are taking the google certificate this one was just filling what you already learn. a few new things but if this is the first course is a good one.
