This Specialization is intended for new or pivoting Data Analysts, seeking to add Teradata Vantage to their role. These courses will get new users up and running and will also leverage the instructor's deep experience in Business Intelligence to provide real-world situations and practical examples. You'll learn concepts, practice hands-on SQL queries, and see them applied in a real business context.
The specialization is designed for Business, Marketing, or Operations Analytics. Concepts and tools like SQL, aggregate functions, joins, subqueries, data-driven decisions, data management, analytics, and business insights are not only explained but brought to life with use cases and scenarios.
Applied Learning Project
Learn SQL query syntax and unique Teradata functions for the most important tasks faced by a Data Analyst. Learners are provided with an authentic dataset, step-by-step instructions, demonstrations, and software simulations, and a scenario in which they watch a Data Analyst work through the critical-thinking tasks that make use of the queries that get the job done. Throughout this specialization, learners will test their knowledge within the three courses using a series of ungraded lesson quizzes, interactive activities, discussion groups with peers, and graded module exams.

No background knowledge is necessary. An understanding of SQL basics and some business concepts is helpful. If you are able to download a free VM & Teradata package onto your home computer, you can practice the steps outlined in the course.
Yes. We recommend beginning with "Getting Started with Teradata," even for students with some experience. The Specialization builds a storytelling real-world use case over the three courses, so the learner journeys with a fictional Data Analyst who solves increasingly challenging problems at their company. Progress to "Improving Analysis and Storage," and complete the specialization with "Building Analytics Systems."
Completion of this Specialization prepares you for a workplace role using Teradata, such as an entry-level Data Analyst role. This is appropriate for new Data Analysts, and also for working DAs getting used to the Teradata system.
