Bio

Stephanie Caporaletti holds both a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in Biological Resources Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree in Technical Management from the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. She has been an instructor for the Whiting School since May 2015, teaching graduate courses in Engineering Management with a focus on Strategic Communications and Project Management. She has served as the Program Manager for the Engineering Management Program since July 2023, providing support to the Program Chair in the administration and oversight of the program and serves as a representative to the Master of Engineering Management Programs Consortium. Stephanie is a Principal Professional Staff member at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, having joined the Lab in 2009. She currently serves as the Group Supervisor of the Health and Human-Machine Systems Group within the Asymmetric Operations Sector, providing functional line leadership and career development support for multi-disciplinary teams in solving technical challenges related to next generation medicine and human-performance improvement. Prior to this role, Stephanie served as a Program Manager leading systems engineering, technology maturation and evaluation, and operational deployment projects related to aircraft collision avoidance and transportation security. Additionally, she is a facilitator for numerous department and Laboratory-wide initiatives, utilizing human-centered design practices to increase collaborative and inclusive behaviors in furtherance of innovation. Stephanie has served as a contractor for the U.S. Government for over twenty years, focused heavily on the test and evaluation of security solutions and concepts for naval, aviation, and surface transportation applications. Supporting numerous Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security projects, she has been responsible for strategic planning, proposal development and contract management, project control, quality management, and sponsor/ customer engagement.
