I am not a public health worker, but i am a medical doctor who are working in primary health care. Knowledge and skill to communicate, trace, and collaborate regarding Covid-19 management are kinds of competency I should gain in order to support ending this pandemic. Topics provided by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have brought my competency to the next level. Those are explained comprehensively, and the practices have also guide me to be more understand about the topic.
Looking forward to other free course :)

The COVID-19 Contact Training course answered so many questions regarding proper isolation and quarantine guidelines. It definitely has given me the tools to be a better contact tracer and learn to build rapport with people who have been tested positive for COVID-19 as well as the people who have come in contact with them. All in all, this course prepares you to take on various scenarios while accurately noting down relevant information needed during your check-ins and follow ups. Would recommend everyone to take this course!

This was an interesting course. However, I would have liked more in-depth discussion of some issues. I was interested in learning more about whether obesity is a risk factor in the absence of DM and HTN. It seems odd that it would a risk factor on its own in the absence of these two conditions. I also felt that it would be useful to learn more about pediatric manifestations of COVID-19. But at any rate, the course is a good, if incomplete, overview of COVID-19 and an excellent resource for learning more about contact tracing.

This course did an excellent job providing both technical and practical information that is relevant for effective contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. I don't have a background in the medical field or in public health; I was initially hesitant to take the course, but I am so glad that I did. I learned valuable information about COVID-19 that equipped me with knowledge about the disease, and I feel confident that if I serve as a contact tracer, I will be effective in my role because of what I learned in this course.

Comprehensive and structurally-detailed course with good and effective communication examples to learn about the actual interactions for both the individual and for the officer from the Health Department. This course helped me in gaining humongous insights into the origin, cause, detection, analysis, contact tracing, effective communication and technological uses to combat this disease (COVID-19) and to help individuals to isolate and quarantine themselves to prevent further spread of disease and allow for Contact Tracing.

The course was well organized and presented in a very user-friendly and easy to understand format.
I found the vignettes of interactions between tracers and cases/contacts particularly helpful. Especially,
on how to communicate with those who are adversarial or reluctant to speak. I learned techniques to
build better rapport in order to gain trust from contacts that will help me gather accurate and detailed
information. Overall, this course helped me better understand SARS-CoV-2 and how to stop the spread of
the virus.

This was a very comprehensive training - I felt as if I had taken a semester-long academic course. With the exception of the section on Technological Tools, which was a little confusing - because of the amount of time that was spent on technologies that would not be acceptable, effective or are only in the development phase - the information was clearly/very clearly presented. The section on Effective Communication was very helpful and almost a course in itself .
I am grateful to have had this opportunity - Thank you!

Thanks to John Hopkins and the Professor in particular for the well structured course. I hope that the course program got adopted and used for training by all the counties down to each and every municipalities/provinces to its health care workers. I pray and wish specific task forces are/continue to be deployed to identify and protect persons above 60 years of age in getting infected from the virus. Also, vaccines with proven survival rate get fast track approval and rolled to public in the coming weeks if not days.

The course is vital to understand the the outbreak of Covid-19 globally and it provides a viable solution for contact tracing of which could be considered most important to stop further spread of pandemic. So I am very much obliged to the course instructor Emily Gurley, PhD, MPH and Johns Hopkins University for sharing your valuable knowledge and resources to impart the existing knowledge among those who need. furthermore, I thank the Coursera team for sharing your platform to deliver this wealth of knowledge.

Great course and quite clear. Very helpful for putting theory into actual practice. The 'actors' did a great job, but I actually think that "Amy" was a little too slow and sort of 'syrupy sweet' -- that is, almost too 'touchy/feely' and I'm not sure I would believe someone who was speaking with me in that fashion.
That said, you need to know the "LARRY ROCKS"!!!!!!! He was awesome in his case role!!!! I'm not sure if he's an actor or someone at Johns Hopkins, or a friend or relative, but he was tremendous!!!!

The course was very informative and organized very well. In the beginning I was thinking how hard can this be but there was a good bit of scientific information to learn and I think the most important part is how to deal with the people you are contacting. It is so important to establish a rapport and be empathetic so that you can provide the information folks need and learn their contacts and help them to understand the importance of quarantine or isolation. To summarize I thought the course was very well done.

This course was a great overview about what COVID-19 is and how to deal effectively with containing the outbreak. The Modules were well crafted and easy to follow. Some concepts were harder than others, but the lessons did a good job of allowing you to go back, re-listen and review if needed. The quizzes included relevant questions and it was good that they allowed you to repeat them if you got an answer or two wrong. I believe going back and filling in the correct answer helped to solidify the knowledge learned.

Very useful! How I wish that we have a stronger testing and tracing program in the Philippines, or even just an approach to the pandemic that is more humane, caring and supportive.
The information and tips, esp on communications, can be applied to our work in civil society response to COVID 19 and ibroadly, n disaster risk reduction and management.
I like the approach and the tone, look and feel of the course is very encouraging.
I enjoyed the simulations. :-) M

Dr Gurley speaks at a nice pace and the information is very well laid out, both visually and verbally.
But I still find that the Coursera platform needs more testing. Many times a quiz just doesn't work. (I took screenshots of my answers, and they were sometimes marked as wrong despite being correct. Also, sometimes it's not obvious that I haven't scrolled all the way to the bottom of a screen, so I haven't checked off ALL of the answers that apply, thus losing more points.
Other than that, I have no complaints.

The Covid-19 Contact Tracing course was very amazing. I really thought I would not be able to gain so much information and access from the course. It is remarkable that this can be taught online. Dr. Emily Gurley is amazing instructor and made the course very easy to follow. Great speaking voice. Really enjoyed the course. So for me What is next? What is available for courses through Coursera in the health management area or health services. Loved the course. Thank You Thank You Dr. Gurley.

This course was well designed, well explained and very informative. I learned lot more about COVID-19 after this course. I wish I knew about this course earlier. I strongly think that every one should attend this course to understand what COVID-19 is, what is the difference between isolation and quarantine, why it is important to follow CDC guidelines to prevent spreading of COVID-19. I finished this course in 4 days with 99% score in final assessment and hope to land good job using this certificate. Thank you.

This course is very informative and instructive. I'm a medical student from India and I'm very happy to say that I was able to learn a lot of COVID-19 and contact tracing. The videos and vignettes were concise, precise and simple to understand. I even recommended it to few of my friends and all were able to complete the course in the stipulated time. I am also very happy to receive a certificate from John Hopkins University and 'm sure it will help me in my career. I shall take up new courses in Coursera also.

THANK YOU to the instructor and teams who developed and made this course available to the public, at no cost!! This comprehensive course was informative and insightful! A great overview. The Covid-19 Contact Training course has not only given me the confidence but also the ability to share what I've learned to protect my family, friends and community. Interrupting the spread of Covid-19 with just one person, can have a great impact! We can and will get through this challenging time. We are all in this together!

Thank you so much. I enjoyed taking the course and I learned in doing so. If I can print the certificate,
I'm hoping to submit it with a new resume I'm working on for SARS-CoV-2 Contact Tracing positions. I'd
have been unable to take the course at this time without it being offered on free enrollment, and I can't
thank you enough for that. I'll be headed in a new career direction hereafter and this couldn't have
happened without your course! I am forever thankful and grateful to John Hopkins University online.

I found this course to be presented in an easy-to-follow format, with the lecturer (Dr. Gurley) speaking clearly and concisely. This course was only a short one: 5-6 hours in one sitting (although I broke it up over 3 days) and I didn't feel overwhelmed by an influx of information in the slightest.
I especially loved that I could download the video, transcript, subtitles *and* PDF slideshow to refer to later, which I feel will come in handy should the need ever arise for me to be a contact tracer for COVID-19.

The course has been discussed clearly and concisely. Aside from gaining additional knowledge, I have clearer insight on what COVID 19 is, how it is spread and how to do contact tracing using effective communication techniques to get accurate information, to educate people and to be successful in implementing isolation and quarantine protocols to each individual. Though I'm not in the medical filed for now, I believe that the information I learned can help me, my family and my community in more ways than one.
